[00:02:06.000] But today's focus is on real-world business plans, and we do have over a thousand business plans available within this resource. [00:02:07.000] These are business plans available within this resource. These are business plans from successful businesses. [00:02:17.000] We've just changed the name and addresses business plans from successful businesses. We've just changed the name and address, but they are again. [00:02:22.000] Business plans from business, from businesses that have have have found success, and our functioning and all available here within this digital resource, you'll also find here within Gale business entrepreneurship reference works, such as the enscyclopedia of small business there's [00:02:40.000] great directories that are related to establishing, but also maintaining and managing a small business. [00:02:48.000] So we have all kinds of information within this resource from the beginning ideas for our entrepreneurs from the beginning, ideas for entrepreneurs to those that haven't established business so we have all kinds of information within this resource from the beginning ideas for entrepreneurs to those that haven't [00:03:02.000] established business, but are looking to continue to manage it, and everything in between. [00:03:06.000] There's over 300 full text entrepreneurial and industry specific magazines and journals available within this resource, too. So if you're looking for industry information, this is a great resource to take a look at so with that, let's jump into the resource and focus on [00:03:19.000] those business plans now, before we go directly to that content, there's a few tools and features I want to point out. [00:03:26.000] Point out to you that will help meet all the variary needs of your users at the very top you have the ability to translate the navigational tools, so that's these navigational tools in the contextual toolbar over here to the right so all those tools, you're looking to translate the platform itself. [00:03:40.000] Or the interface. We have over 34 languages available here at the top. [00:03:51.000] Now this is separate. Then our document level translation. So I will share that with you. [00:03:56.000] Today, too. It's on our document level translation, is there? [00:03:57.000] As some of those tools to support accessibility. I am signed in. [00:04:04.000] You do have the ability to sign in with Google or Microsoft. [00:04:07.000] I am signed in with Google, and if you were, if we have any K 12 folks, it's you were set up as a teacher using Google classroom. [00:04:11.000] And you sign in, you will automatically be able to post things to your Google classroom as we scroll down the page a few items I want to point out. [00:04:25.000] Of course, you have basic and advanced search in our contextual toolbar. [00:04:29.000] The one thing couple things I want to point out actually, is the glossary which is really helpful for those terms that may not be fully understood as your patrons and students and users are accessing this resource, that glossary can be really helpful. [00:04:45.000] Another tool. I want to point out is the git link link, provides a persistent URL back to any spot within this resource, and this is great for sharing it information or posting information on your library website. [00:04:57.000] Or maybe on social media. If you wanna share an article or a business plan or where to find all your business plans, you can use the get link, tool and highlights and notes is a great way to highlight specific content within these articles or business plans, it even pulls, it out for you so if you [00:05:15.000] just want those snippets of information you can send just your highlights and notes to your Google drive Microsoft onedrive. [00:05:23.000] You can also email download and print so all those options are available along with sending the entire document to those locations to. So looking at. [00:05:32.000] Let's focus now on content. And below, we have different categories. [00:05:37.000] So we have 4 topics that we've pulled out here that are the most important to our small business owners or entrepreneurs. [00:05:46.000] We have planned fund, start and manage, and the quickest way to find all of your business plans is to go into the plan section and go directly to the business plans. [00:05:51.000] Topic, page, now, if I'm not really sure that this exists, or what this fully is, and let's say I was typing in business plan. [00:06:05.000] And my basic search, because this is very similar to what we're used to when we're doing any type of searches on the open web, we can type in business plans. [00:06:14.000] And there at the top my search assist is pulling that topic page to the very top of my list. [00:06:18.000] So either way, your users will be able to access this topic. [00:06:19.000] Page so either if they're using basic search or they're exploring this homepage and they click directly into business plans. [00:06:33.000] And the topic page is a curated collection of information. [00:06:36.000] We start with an image, and essay overview and then we have all of our different content types. [00:06:39.000] Now this this topic page is focused strictly on business plan. [00:06:44.000] So you're going to see a lot of business plans here. [00:06:50.000] But you're going to find magazines in journal. [00:06:53.000] So great periodicals. There's some websites available. [00:06:54.000] We have a few directories, but our directories might be, let's say, if I were to go into something like opening a coffee shop, if that's something I'm interested in. [00:07:05.000] My number of directories would be a lot higher. The directories related to business plans. [00:07:06.000] Maybe not see as much because of the topic that we're in, and we have everything all of these content types organized in these boxes below. [00:07:17.000] We are going to focus on business plans. So we have over a thousand business plans available, and I can do a couple of different things. [00:07:24.000] If I am solely looking for those business plans, and you are directing, you have patrons coming into your library, and that's what they're looking for. [00:07:32.000] I am a small business owner I have for over 20 years, and I started at my public library. [00:07:37.000] I went in and asked for help. Where do I get started? [00:07:38.000] And we didn't necessarily have these digital resources. I really wish we did, along with a few others that you have from the Tennessee Electronic Library. [00:07:49.000] That would have been really helpful at that time, 20 years ago, to be focusing and building my business. [00:07:56.000] But here we have them, and you're all of your patrons. [00:07:57.000] Can, and students and faculty members, teachers can benefit from the information. [00:08:07.000] So business plans. We have over a thousand of them available. [00:08:09.000] Now, how can I filter that content down quickly before I filter it down? [00:08:14.000] What if I wanted to share all of these business plans? [00:08:17.000] This is a way to share content, and that is using the get link tool. [00:08:22.000] It's in your contextual toolbar over to the right. [00:08:23.000] I click on, get Link, and I can grab this link and post it wherever I would like to share this information so maybe I'm having some special programming programming happening in my library, or I'm at a academic library. [00:08:38.000] And I know that the end of the semester end of the year students are looking for business plans, and they because they have to write their own, and they need some examples. [00:08:48.000] I could share this with my faculty members I could post it on my library website. My lib. [00:08:49.000] Guides wherever you have students that are learning or users that need this type of information. [00:08:51.000] Maybe you have a small business group that you work closely with your business community. [00:08:58.000] I've seen that in a lot of different states this is a great way to share that information. [00:09:07.000] So all of the business plans before even filtering anything down you can use the get link tool, and this will provide every user direct access into this spot within the resource. [00:09:20.000] Now, how can I filter this down now that I'm here? [00:09:21.000] What can I do to find exactly what I'm looking for? [00:09:25.000] And I am seeing again over a thousand business plans, and it's sorting by relevance. [00:09:31.000] But I really didn't put in any search terms. I'm just looking at all my business plans. [00:09:35.000] So maybe I want to filter to the newest. I want the newest ones at the top, because I kind of want to see what's trending. [00:09:42.000] This is kind of a way that I take a look, to as to what businesses are trending, and you can see these are the most current. [00:09:49.000] You may have the business hand plans handbook on your library shelves, and you have every volume here available digitally. [00:09:58.000] So you have all of those tools to support accessibility, one of them being translate that I mentioned, that are related to each of these individual, or can be used on each of these individual business plans. [00:10:10.000] So if you have these on your on your shelves, at your library, you also have digital access, unlimited access, unlimited download available 24/7 plus. [00:10:22.000] You have all those tools to support accessibility, so you have them. [00:10:23.000] I'm here also in a great way to share that with your users. [00:10:30.000] So that's where all of this content is coming from. [00:10:33.000] And you can see the most recent 2023. [00:10:36.000] So I did filter to newest, but I also have some filter options over to the right hand side. [00:10:41.000] Now these are shared tools and features across all of your gale resources, and they work pretty much the same. [00:10:46.000] It's just you're going to see, of course, different content. [00:10:48.000] But we have publication date. I would like to filter to just business plans from the past year or I can put in a specific date range if there's certain subjects I'm looking for for example, maybe I just want business plans related to cleaning services in the cleaning services. [00:11:01.000] Industry. I can filter down by sell. Document type is pretty much going to be business plans, but you can see there's a few industry overviews, and there happens to be one photograph there topic. [00:11:22.000] Overviews are also available. Publication titles. You're going to see that they're coming from all our coming from the business plans, handbook. [00:11:25.000] And then I do have the ability to search within. So if I didn't see a subject here, or I just want to quickly find some contact, maybe I'm looking for furniture restoration. [00:11:47.000] I can submit that, and it takes my business plans from a thousand down to 5. [00:11:53.000] So very quickly. I can find exactly what I'm looking for in each of these business plans might look a little different, because it's truly based on the person that created their business plan. [00:12:04.000] So what I mean by that is let me click into this first one. [00:12:08.000] You can see below here the article contents. This business plan has a summary, a company, description, market analysis, growth, strategy, and financial analysis. [00:12:19.000] And they're all listed here below. [00:12:24.000] But that's my article contents. If I go back to my results, and let's see if this one has a little bit different information. [00:12:35.000] So this one has a little bit different furniture finishing home decor accessories, small business home furnishing Stores. [00:12:41.000] So this has a little bit different information. So you can see where comparing and keeping or saving individual business plans, combining those ideas together to create your own. [00:12:52.000] Using this as a mentor text. If you're utilizing it in the classroom, either in the K 12 classroom or in the college level classroom, you can see where this could be really helpful to your users again, as a small business owner. [00:13:10.000] This is something that can be really helpful. Not only that, but even from the business plan you can jump to additional article or additional information. [00:13:19.000] Really related to this business plan, so in that explore panel, you're going to have the more like this section. [00:13:26.000] Alright. Let's say there's a couple of different things I want to do with this. [00:13:30.000] I want to translate the text. I can translate the text into over 40 languages, using and we have to be at the document level, using the translate feature. [00:13:38.000] I can decrease or increase the font size, I can change the color behind the text. [00:13:41.000] I can change the font. Maybe I need open dyslexic line, letter and word spacing. [00:13:50.000] I can increase. So all those options and tools are available when you are in your digital resource accessing your business plans, you can also listen to the text being read aloud to you. [00:14:00.000] If this is something I'm really interested in, and I want to save it. [00:14:04.000] I can use our quick send options here. So Google Microsoft email download or print or let's say, I've been reading and I'm to this point. [00:14:12.000] I see this great graph. It's sharing great information. [00:14:15.000] I've done some highlighting, clicking and dragging over a text, and I'm taking some notes. [00:14:24.000] And now I decide, oh, I definitely wanna keep this article I can send to my contextual toolbar floated down the page with me. [00:14:31.000] I can send it to Google and Microsoft email, download and print are all here. [00:14:33.000] And it'll remain all markered up for me exactly how I have it. [00:14:40.000] Any notes I've taken. What'll happen is this chunk of text will. [00:14:44.000] Let's say I'm sending it to Google. [00:14:46.000] It'll turn this document into a Google Doc. This chunk of text will still be highlighted in this original article, and then, below my citation, I'll have this chunk of yellow Text, and also any notes I've taken. [00:15:00.000] There's also another area highlights and notes that's being built out that just pulls out those notes from that article. [00:15:06.000] And you can just send highlights and notes to your Google drive Microsoft one drive, email download or print. [00:15:13.000] Okay. So I've talked about. And we just this is just a very brief 15 min to mastery session. [00:15:19.000] I talked about how you can find your content quickly. You can go to the business plans here by doing a quick search and it'll take you to that topic page or again, it's right on the homepage, and then you can filter down all of that content. [00:15:35.000] Don't forget to share information you can use the get linked tool, or you can quickly send this information to Google or Microsoft. [00:15:43.000] Or you can email it. Let's go back to our power point. [00:15:48.000] And I'm going to share with you where you can go for additional support, and that's your Gale support site.
