[00:00:07.400] thank you again everyone for being on the line [00:00:09.448] today. We're talking about gale [00:00:11.500] literature today. My name is [00:00:13.560] Amber Winters and I am your gale training [00:00:15.618] consultant [00:00:17.609] So I have a quick agenda here for everyone. So first [00:00:19.949] I'm gonna talk a little bit about what [00:00:21.989] gale literature is to be more specific. [00:00:24.109] Today. We're talking about the cross [00:00:26.318] search platform as opposed to one specific [00:00:28.728] resource. So we'll talk about that [00:00:30.768] today. We'll spend the majority of the time actually [00:00:33.139] walking through the resource though. So you can get a feel [00:00:35.609] of some of the different work flows. [00:00:38.259] that your users are going to be experiencing [00:00:41.859] and I will save time at the very end for any questions [00:00:44.219] that you may have and I do have some closing [00:00:46.347] information for you as well. if you do [00:00:48.429] have questions before the end of the session, [00:00:50.560] feel free to go ahead and ask those in the Q. [00:00:52.700] And A. And I should be able to keep up with that [00:00:54.789] as we're moving along today. If [00:00:57.097] it does get a little bit jammed up in the Q. And A. You [00:00:59.130] notice your question hasn't been answered? [00:01:01.139] Don't worry about it, it will be answered [00:01:03.609] at the very latest at the end of the session [00:01:05.709] today, So [00:01:08.620] let's go ahead and get started talking about [00:01:10.789] gale literature again, this is the cross search [00:01:13.129] platform that we're talking about today. [00:01:15.307] before we get started, if you're looking for [00:01:17.408] a webinar that's specifically about one [00:01:19.557] of the different resources, we do already [00:01:21.799] have those pre created [00:01:23.837] on the support site for you to take a look [00:01:25.930] at you get the support site information at the very [00:01:28.150] end of this session. But again today we're talking [00:01:30.480] about our cross search platform and this is going [00:01:32.579] to cross cross search [00:01:34.829] through all of the gale literature resources. [00:01:37.128] You here, see here on the screen now [00:01:39.408] you may or may not have access to all of these, [00:01:41.769] you're [00:01:42.989] Your institution could certainly vary. You may [00:01:45.079] have access to maybe two [00:01:47.120] or three, Maybe you have three or four, maybe you do have [00:01:49.229] all of them. But all of these will be cross [00:01:51.277] search on the gale literature. Cross search [00:01:53.539] platform and I will note here [00:01:55.759] that the platform is only going to search through [00:01:57.848] the resources you currently currently have access [00:01:59.894] to. So you don't need to worry about your patrons [00:02:02.284] or your students. searching [00:02:04.474] and then maybe hitting a wall because we found something [00:02:06.823] in, let's say they alerted her lip finder [00:02:09.054] and you don't have access to it. It's only going [00:02:11.242] to search through the resources that you currently [00:02:13.335] have access to. [00:02:16.527] and a couple of key features of the platform [00:02:18.628] before we just dive right in the first I want to [00:02:20.710] mention are our person and our work searches. [00:02:23.718] these are really helpful to narrow down contents [00:02:26.188] because scale literature. Again, you saw how many [00:02:28.300] resources it's searching through all at once [00:02:30.758] is going to pull back a huge amount of content. [00:02:33.610] So if your users are going in, Oftentimes [00:02:36.204] it's better to have something specific in mind [00:02:38.274] that they want to search for that way. [00:02:40.365] They're not in inundated with a [00:02:42.375] huge amount of results. So the person in [00:02:44.402] work search is a really nice way to do that [00:02:46.902] if they have a specific individual or work [00:02:49.133] in mind that they can search just for that [00:02:51.425] and really narrow down what they're looking for [00:02:54.649] in addition to that we include related resources [00:02:57.277] on the the home page of gale literature. [00:02:59.598] So we'll take a look at that and that's going [00:03:01.729] to give related resources that [00:03:03.758] your institution currently has access [00:03:05.777] to. So it's going to be resources that aren't [00:03:08.080] searched within gale literature but [00:03:10.188] that might be helpful or might be supplemental for [00:03:12.199] your users. So they'll see that here [00:03:14.300] on this platform as well. [00:03:16.889] And finally a new feature that we've just [00:03:19.110] added are some really great topic pages. [00:03:21.307] So again, these are helping your users filter [00:03:23.527] down to content they're looking for as [00:03:26.288] simply as possible because again, this [00:03:28.318] is a huge cross search. They're going to pull [00:03:30.419] a lot of content so we have these nice [00:03:32.598] topic pages that are going to curate results [00:03:35.199] related to some of the most search, [00:03:37.288] some of the most used topics [00:03:39.389] that are currently in research, both [00:03:41.550] for the secondary level students [00:03:43.990] as well as [00:03:45.270] excuse me, post secondary [00:03:47.770] and your kind of general researchers that you're going to find [00:03:49.889] maybe in a public library setting. [00:03:52.538] So we do have those topic pages prec [00:03:54.579] created where we organize all of our results [00:03:56.699] nice and easily so users can access [00:03:59.098] that really. Similarly, [00:04:02.288] now. I just want to start to click through this resource [00:04:04.568] here. I think we don't need to spend too much time talking [00:04:06.848] about it while I'm switching over [00:04:08.929] to my other screen. Do we have any questions? [00:04:11.378] I haven't seen any pop into the Q and A. But [00:04:13.628] I do want to make sure I hit those. [00:04:17.987] Ok, I don't see any, so give me one [00:04:20.160] quick second here. I got logged [00:04:22.338] out of my instant. Let me sign back in. [00:04:24.500] There we go. [00:04:26.298] So this is the gale literature home page and [00:04:28.358] I want to go over kind of the layout of [00:04:30.389] the land a little bit before I really dig in. So [00:04:32.869] we do of course have our basic [00:04:35.139] and advanced searches up here in the [00:04:37.177] the banner up top here but down [00:04:39.209] underneath we have some other really nice goodies [00:04:41.369] that are found on this page here. So we'll talk [00:04:43.600] about our toolbar in one second. [00:04:45.619] But underneath that [00:04:46.980] it's giving you just a little bit about what this resource [00:04:49.409] is, it will certainly be helpful [00:04:51.519] for your users so they understand exactly [00:04:54.139] what they're alert looking through [00:04:57.269] and then down underneath. Again, as I mentioned, [00:04:59.409] you have access to this nice [00:05:01.528] related from gale feature [00:05:03.927] so yours will most likely look different than [00:05:06.028] mine. This is only showing what your institution [00:05:08.629] has access to. So one [00:05:11.009] great feature, I like to point out gale book and books [00:05:13.379] and authors is not cross searched. [00:05:15.713] through good literature, but it's oftentimes handy [00:05:18.204] as your users are starting to look for different books [00:05:20.454] to read. So we do include that here under [00:05:22.834] the related literature. Resources, you'll [00:05:24.884] see often times quite a few different [00:05:26.975] archives and things are found here as well. So if [00:05:29.035] you do have access to those we [00:05:31.285] may include them here at the bottom. Your users will be able [00:05:33.375] to see that [00:05:34.959] They can click into any of these and it's [00:05:37.048] going to pull them forward into that resource [00:05:39.509] so they can kind of move their research forward. [00:05:41.909] They won't need to authenticate into that resource [00:05:44.209] because they're already signed in with [00:05:46.558] Gil literature. So it'll automatically log [00:05:48.730] them into whatever resource they clicked [00:05:50.959] into here [00:05:53.769] now scrolling back up, I want to go into [00:05:55.829] these tools we have in this toolbar here because [00:05:58.009] even without running our basic search, [00:06:00.389] we've got some really powerful tools right here that [00:06:02.420] are going to help us out. So the first one is this [00:06:04.649] what's inside button with this little [00:06:06.699] box icon? [00:06:08.129] And this is going to show me what exactly is [00:06:10.278] being searched within gil literature. [00:06:12.829] So you notice my list is a little bit smaller [00:06:15.269] than what I showed you on my slides because this is [00:06:17.338] all my instance has access to [00:06:20.778] but I can actually click on one of these. [00:06:23.559] and I can search within this resource. So even [00:06:25.778] though I'm on gay literature which is our cross search [00:06:27.980] platform, if I decided I really [00:06:30.209] just wanted to take a look at what we have available [00:06:32.619] within gale Literature Resource Center, [00:06:35.009] I can click on that and search and [00:06:37.100] it's just going to pull forward content from that resource. [00:06:39.858] So if they did click into gale literature but [00:06:41.959] they are actually looking for information just [00:06:44.069] from one resource they [00:06:46.100] can do that right here on this platform. Of course they can [00:06:48.420] certainly just sign directly into [00:06:50.439] gay literature Resource center. [00:06:52.298] but they can do it this way if they already clicked [00:06:54.509] into gale literature and don't want to kind of take [00:06:56.579] that step back, they can click into the what's [00:06:58.699] inside and run their search for through [00:07:01.069] one specific resource here. [00:07:04.470] Now I'm going to jump back to the home page just [00:07:06.619] so we kind of have one landing spot as [00:07:08.759] we go through today. So I just clicked [00:07:10.850] on my banner up top and it's pulled me back [00:07:12.927] forward here [00:07:14.309] So next to my what's inside button, [00:07:16.350] I have a browse topics option. And this [00:07:18.420] is where those topic pages I mentioned are [00:07:20.427] going to be found. [00:07:22.048] and this is a new feature that we've just added. [00:07:24.309] Again, just another layer of organization [00:07:26.329] for your users. [00:07:27.737] So they can click into that browse topics [00:07:29.949] and they're pulled forward to the screen. That's showing all [00:07:31.987] of the different topic pages we have [00:07:34.290] created here on this platform. [00:07:36.778] So you'll see they have the option to filter their topics [00:07:38.889] here. We have them all [00:07:40.939] listed down underneath and I can click into any [00:07:43.028] of these topics [00:07:45.350] on the left hand side. We also have the different [00:07:47.689] topic categories that we can click into. [00:07:50.619] I could choose to narrow down what I'm looking at [00:07:52.730] with this drop down here. So it defaults [00:07:54.909] to showing topics which is going to be all of our topics. [00:07:58.159] But I can change it to just showing works [00:08:00.379] or I can change it to showing authors [00:08:03.170] but we'll leave it as topics today. [00:08:06.399] And let's take a look over our left hand side [00:08:08.459] here. So let's say I really want to narrow it down specifically [00:08:10.798] to cultural identity. Maybe I'm doing [00:08:13.028] a research project on that or something [00:08:15.230] similar to that. You'll see when I click now [00:08:17.427] into just cultural identity. It's [00:08:19.480] pulling up all of the topic pages we [00:08:21.509] have created relating to [00:08:23.629] that topic. Now I do want to mention. [00:08:25.970] These are not all of the topics we [00:08:28.009] have within our resources about [00:08:30.069] cultural identity. These are some of [00:08:32.090] the top searched in the tap used [00:08:34.200] topics. So we've created this information [00:08:36.710] to help individuals who may be starting [00:08:39.119] to kind of take a look at, Excuse me, [00:08:42.158] some of the the most popular [00:08:44.649] topics we've pulled that forward, so I can [00:08:46.690] click into any of these let's [00:08:48.769] say, brazil, Brazilian literature [00:08:51.057] today, when I do that. [00:08:53.109] This is our topic page here. So at the top [00:08:55.739] I have an overview about my topic [00:08:58.960] down underneath? [00:09:00.489] I have all of my related results. So [00:09:02.580] instead of seeing just the basic search results [00:09:04.820] page, [00:09:06.009] I see all of this nice and organized. I see [00:09:08.200] I have a lot of biographies related to this [00:09:10.259] topic, some news reports, a [00:09:12.269] lot of primary sources and literary [00:09:14.469] works. You're going to see a lot of literary [00:09:16.879] works if you have access to Gale [00:09:19.048] literature lip finder, it's going to have a lot [00:09:21.139] of full texts. So again, your [00:09:23.239] results are most likely going to be different than mine [00:09:25.450] based on what resources you have access [00:09:27.570] to. But you'll start to see all of this content [00:09:30.080] and as I scroll down, [00:09:31.489] you'll see. I've got these different content buckets [00:09:33.580] that I've really completely organized my [00:09:35.677] results here. So I'll be able to scroll through [00:09:37.950] find exactly what I'm looking for [00:09:40.899] and then at the very bottom of our topic pages, we [00:09:43.019] do include a related topics section [00:09:45.177] here. So if I want to move forward. just [00:09:47.580] strictly using my topic pages, I don't even [00:09:49.729] want to run a search. Maybe I just want to click through that [00:09:51.788] way. I can do that by using these related [00:09:54.080] topics down below. [00:09:59.019] Now, are there any questions about these [00:10:01.099] topic pages, how they're formatted? Anything [00:10:03.389] like that [00:10:06.739] Ok, No questions. So we'll go ahead and keep [00:10:08.759] going again. I'm going to bounce [00:10:10.840] back to the home page as we kind of click [00:10:13.019] through these different features just so we have [00:10:15.099] one landing point. So next to our [00:10:17.129] browse topics, we have our person [00:10:19.219] search and our work search. [00:10:21.399] They both have their own button. They're also found under [00:10:23.719] the advanced search option, but [00:10:25.739] we have pulled them forward here just because they are [00:10:27.840] so powerful and they are used [00:10:29.859] fairly frequently. We want to make sure they're [00:10:31.879] clear and easy to find. [00:10:34.778] So I wanna click into person search today [00:10:37.099] just so we can take a quick look here. [00:10:39.288] And this this feature is really [00:10:41.408] handy if your your [00:10:43.570] users has someone that's specific in [00:10:45.609] mind. Of course they'll be able to just run for that [00:10:47.750] run a search for that person. But [00:10:50.019] it's also really nice if they're maybe looking for [00:10:52.038] a specific category of individual [00:10:54.798] maybe there um [00:10:57.190] doing a project on, let's say women [00:10:59.369] authors or maybe hispanic women authors [00:11:01.590] or african american [00:11:03.807] authors or whomever. they [00:11:06.019] can narrow that down here underneath using these search [00:11:08.359] limiters. So I can click in [00:11:10.369] maybe again, I do want to click into female. [00:11:14.009] maybe I want to change my ethnicity here. [00:11:16.330] See I can scroll down. So let's say hispanic american. [00:11:18.830] So we're running a project on hispanic [00:11:21.330] american. Female authors. [00:11:23.349] So I'm going to put that in there. [00:11:26.427] run my search here. [00:11:28.807] and now it pulls me forward to this really nice [00:11:31.048] list of individuals here. So you're going [00:11:33.239] to see as I start to scroll down [00:11:35.399] all of these individuals I can actually click [00:11:37.570] into and this is going to pull me forward results [00:11:39.950] related to these people. [00:11:41.807] And on the right hand side here you'll see the number [00:11:44.009] of results I have for each individual. So some [00:11:46.080] individuals will have more content [00:11:48.168] than others, but you'll be able to see here [00:11:50.519] exactly what's available and then you can really [00:11:52.879] easily just click through and find content that [00:11:55.000] way. The [00:11:57.849] work search looks very similar to that. [00:12:00.200] I will click into that [00:12:01.690] right here in my toolbar [00:12:04.759] So you'll see the same formatting here [00:12:07.989] You'll see I can't choose my type of work [00:12:10.769] here. I can also use it, choose [00:12:13.149] a time frame. So if I just want to look through [00:12:15.269] a specific century, I have that option [00:12:17.479] here as well. [00:12:19.278] but I want to point out our full text [00:12:21.619] limiter option. [00:12:23.359] So if I click into that and run my search, [00:12:25.418] I'll be able to see all of the full text content [00:12:27.580] we have in here. Again, depending [00:12:29.677] on the resources that [00:12:31.778] you have available. Many of them do [00:12:33.830] have full text poems, short [00:12:35.969] stories, plays, even [00:12:38.239] some speeches, things like that. [00:12:40.009] So you do have the option to limit that right [00:12:42.298] here within the cross search option. [00:12:44.807] Um I do have access right now to 190,000 [00:12:48.119] full text pieces of information. [00:12:50.950] again, that will most likely be different for you [00:12:53.090] depending on what you have access to. [00:12:56.927] and I'm going to jump back home for the [00:12:58.960] last time here [00:13:01.609] You see we have a couple more tools listed here [00:13:03.830] on this right hand side. I'll take a look [00:13:06.019] at those in a second, but I do first just want to run [00:13:08.190] a search. So if you have users coming [00:13:10.389] in who are just planning on running that basic [00:13:12.427] search, they don't know exactly what they're looking [00:13:14.619] for.they maybe they don't really want [00:13:16.889] to browse, they can just start off [00:13:18.940] with a search here. So today I'm going to search one [00:13:21.229] flew over the cue's nest. [00:13:23.349] And you'll see as I start to type here, [00:13:25.479] I have a few options that are bolded up top [00:13:28.840] Any predictive text that's bolded [00:13:30.899] is actually a topic page. So just [00:13:33.028] like we took a look at what just like [00:13:35.129] we saw when we clicked into this browse topic [00:13:37.399] section, if you run a search and there's [00:13:39.609] a topic page, it's going to pull that forward as [00:13:41.739] well. So I'll click into my topic [00:13:44.119] page here. [00:13:47.460] Now when I do that I will pull [00:13:49.590] that full topic page experience forward. [00:13:52.239] Since this is a work [00:13:54.340] a lot of times you'll get these quick facts about [00:13:56.440] the author when it was published, [00:13:58.580] all that good stuff on this left [00:14:00.700] hand side. Again we have a nice overview [00:14:02.759] of the specific topic. so of course [00:14:05.139] this is going to be an overview of both [00:14:07.479] the work and the author. [00:14:11.668] now, down underneath. Again we have all of [00:14:13.769] our different bits of information, [00:14:16.288] pre organ for us. So we can really [00:14:18.580] easily just start to click through [00:14:21.259] again at the very bottom, we do have a related [00:14:23.509] topics page here, [00:14:25.668] Well, let's go ahead and click into one [00:14:28.009] of these little content buckets here today. I'm going [00:14:30.119] to click into topic and work overviews [00:14:35.080] now when I do that it's going to pull forward but looks like [00:14:37.239] a basic search. So if I were to [00:14:39.320] search for something that didn't have a topic [00:14:41.399] page [00:14:42.710] It would look like this with all of my [00:14:45.019] results pulled here, it does default [00:14:47.080] to sorting by relevance [00:14:49.229] if they want to, they can drop this down [00:14:51.369] and choose to sort by newest or by oldest [00:14:53.668] or by document title if they want to. [00:14:55.750] But it does again default to showing [00:14:58.070] relevance first. [00:15:01.427] Now, once I'm in this here, I do want to point [00:15:03.538] out if your users are interested [00:15:05.830] in where exactly this content is being pulled, [00:15:08.739] we're going to show them down underneath the [00:15:10.798] entry where they're found. So this particular [00:15:13.080] entry is found within Gil literature lit finder. [00:15:16.557] If I scroll down, you'll see there's one here from [00:15:18.940] Literature Resource Center [00:15:21.119] and I can just start to scroll down to see where all of this [00:15:23.177] content is pulled from. [00:15:27.048] on this right hand side here, I also have some [00:15:29.168] great filters that are going to help me out as I start [00:15:31.408] to research the one I really like to point [00:15:33.590] out is the subjects here. So this is going [00:15:35.639] to narrow it down even further than [00:15:37.700] my basic search. Remember my search was just [00:15:39.729] for the work itself, but now [00:15:41.899] I can narrow it down a bit further here [00:15:45.038] Maybe I want to talk specifically about [00:15:47.080] freedom related to this book, [00:15:49.259] pessimism. You'll see all that great stuff. I [00:15:51.278] can click and navigate through here, [00:15:54.519] I also have the option to narrow down just [00:15:56.609] to peer review journals. [00:15:58.840] when I do that, you'll see it's pulling forward my [00:16:00.979] literature criticism first [00:16:03.210] and I'll be able to click through this [00:16:05.320] and what's great is our peer reviewed bits [00:16:07.340] of information are listed as [00:16:09.538] peer reviewed. You'll see this nice little checkmark [00:16:11.609] here. So if your users are looking for peer [00:16:13.769] reviewed content, they'll always just want to find that checkmark [00:16:16.677] and they'll be ready to go. [00:16:18.418] But I want all of my information today. Not just [00:16:22.307] my peer review journal. So I'm [00:16:24.330] going to jump back to topic and work overview [00:16:26.750] since that's where I was previously. [00:16:30.028] underneath this, I also have the option [00:16:32.057] to click into a topic finder or [00:16:34.349] a term frequency chart. So I can start to [00:16:36.399] see the frequency of this [00:16:38.408] work being talked about. If [00:16:40.599] I decided to click into my topic finder here, [00:16:44.859] that search that it already ran [00:16:47.629] is going to pull forward here and I'm going to get [00:16:49.788] some related topics [00:16:51.840] and I can click into any of these [00:16:54.307] and it's going to narrow down my results. So just [00:16:56.469] three results here as opposed to [00:16:58.479] everything I saw on the previous page. [00:17:01.090] So this is a nice way to both [00:17:03.158] narrow down results but also to make [00:17:05.170] different interconnections between different [00:17:07.250] topics here. [00:17:09.058] I'm gonna hit the back button because I want to stay [00:17:11.140] on my results page. [00:17:13.958] And I'm just going to click into my first one here, [00:17:16.117] an explanation. [00:17:18.846] And when I do that, this page is going [00:17:20.867] to look exactly how it looks and whatever resource. [00:17:23.807] this was pulled from. [00:17:26.817] Excuse me. So this one is pulled from lip finder. [00:17:29.880] so it would look exactly like this if I were to [00:17:31.890] have run the search within the native resource [00:17:34.298] as well. And what's great is now that I'm [00:17:36.410] on this page. I have all of the same [00:17:38.640] tools that I would have had within [00:17:41.420] gay literature lit finder. I have it here on [00:17:43.479] my gay literature platform. So if I wanted [00:17:45.640] to, if I found some great content that [00:17:47.660] I either want to save for myself or maybe [00:17:49.847] I want to forward along to colleagues or to [00:17:52.288] group members. If I'm a student, [00:17:54.880] I can hit my send to button up top here [00:17:58.170] This is going to let me send this bit of information [00:18:00.969] over to my drives or I can choose to [00:18:02.989] email it maybe to myself or [00:18:05.087] to again maybe a colleague or a group [00:18:07.160] member. [00:18:08.528] I can also download this bit of content [00:18:10.650] or print it out to save it for later if that works [00:18:12.847] well and [00:18:14.939] I have this great get link feature here and this [00:18:17.077] button actually follows me along throughout the full [00:18:19.269] session. So as I'm finding different bits [00:18:21.420] of content, I want to save for later. If [00:18:23.509] I don't want to put it in my drive, I don't [00:18:25.519] want to email it, I can just pull this nice [00:18:27.857] quick get link. It is a persistent [00:18:30.199] URL that's going to pull me back to this [00:18:32.219] exact page so I can copy and paste this [00:18:34.989] and put it wherever I want to go. [00:18:37.278] And you'll also find that get link option on [00:18:39.670] our topic pages and our search [00:18:41.729] results pages. So if I ran a search [00:18:43.880] and find a lot of great stuff that I want to save, [00:18:46.357] I can't right now click through every single article, [00:18:48.597] but I do want to look at them later, [00:18:50.867] I can use my get link and I'll be pulled to that page [00:18:54.278] So this is another really powerful tool that [00:18:56.347] we have available within all of [00:18:58.410] our literature resources. [00:19:01.880] now, scrolling down a little bit, I will point out you [00:19:03.930] have those same features down here underneath. [00:19:06.558] So these do the same as these buttons, [00:19:08.597] we just like to add it in two different places [00:19:10.910] just for a little bit of redundancy to make sure [00:19:13.278] everyone can find what they're looking for. [00:19:16.630] We also have a citation feature. So if [00:19:18.680] you do have students clicking through these resources, [00:19:21.689] they'll be able to cite it directly. [00:19:23.788] You'll see it is showing that it came from [00:19:25.867] Gale literature lit finder, even though they've [00:19:28.048] searched it through gil literature [00:19:30.150] since it's just considered a cross search, [00:19:32.509] that's not exactly what we're going to put in our citation. [00:19:34.910] We're going to put the actual resource. So [00:19:36.989] that's already pre created for [00:19:39.048] your users [00:19:42.719] In addition to that, they can choose to edit how [00:19:44.969] they're seeing this text as well. So [00:19:47.117] they have the ability to translate. If I hit [00:19:49.308] my translate button under here, they can choose [00:19:51.489] whatever language they need [00:19:53.489] they can increase or decrease the the font size [00:19:55.670] again as needed. [00:19:57.390] They have the option to change their display [00:20:00.298] right here, so I could change the color that I'm [00:20:02.449] seeing. [00:20:03.509] I can also change the font [00:20:05.640] to make it whichever font I prefer, [00:20:07.709] we do have a dyslexia fonts available [00:20:10.327] here and then I can also change the line, letter [00:20:12.439] and word spacing [00:20:14.140] so this is again just trying to increase [00:20:16.199] the accessibility as much as possible. [00:20:18.269] So every user or whatever [00:20:20.500] needs they have, we want to make sure they can access this [00:20:22.689] content. And this is one way we do that [00:20:25.380] I'm gonna pull this back to the default settings today [00:20:27.519] though and [00:20:30.180] finally they can listen to this as well. I'm just [00:20:32.199] going to pause it because I didn't hit um [00:20:34.400] I didn't share my audio with you, but [00:20:36.617] they do have the option to listen to this. [00:20:38.630] You'll see when I hit that list. And but it opens [00:20:40.798] up this little tool bar here [00:20:42.808] and you'll see. I have a a few different settings [00:20:45.209] options to make sure this is being read to me as [00:20:47.357] best it can be. I can choose [00:20:49.587] to have text highlighted as it's [00:20:51.689] being read. I can choose the different colors. [00:20:54.140] I can also choose things like the read speed. [00:20:56.867] So it defaults to a medium speed. [00:20:59.009] If I need a slower option, I have that [00:21:01.067] here. If I want to listen to it quickly, I have [00:21:03.317] a fast option here as well, but it does default [00:21:05.650] to that medium there. [00:21:10.347] So again, these tools are found within the [00:21:12.469] native literature resources, so [00:21:14.567] that finder Literature Resource Center. [00:21:17.380] Excuse me. [00:21:20.077] but we've included them here within gil literature [00:21:22.597] as well to keep that same formatting [00:21:25.038] and to make sure your users always have access [00:21:27.317] to these different tools that definitely come in handy [00:21:30.189] as they're starting to kind of run [00:21:32.577] through their research [00:21:35.357] One final feature, I'll point out is our Explorer [00:21:37.680] panel, you'll find this on all of our entries [00:21:39.699] as well. So this is going to help move [00:21:41.900] their research forward. They can start to click through [00:21:44.180] more articles like this one or [00:21:46.528] you'll see. We do include related topics here. [00:21:48.739] So maybe if we want to take a look at the author now, as [00:21:50.900] opposed to just the work, [00:21:53.140] we can certainly do that. Or maybe we want to take a look [00:21:55.528] at the movie. Maybe we want to kind [00:21:57.689] of compare that to the book or maybe [00:21:59.969] we're working through something like that. We can also take [00:22:02.130] a look at that right here on this platform [00:22:08.278] I'm going to click back to the home page. I still [00:22:10.400] haven't seen any questions pull forward. [00:22:13.209] but I do want to ask, we have about [00:22:15.259] five minutes and I do have some wrap up information [00:22:17.837] to give you but I do want to make sure [00:22:20.048] everyone knows. If you have questions, type [00:22:22.199] those into the Q and A. And I'll be able to answer [00:22:24.239] them. So let me switch back here [00:22:28.439] to my slides and again [00:22:30.920] if anyone has questions go ahead and type them in. But [00:22:33.160] I do have some contact info for [00:22:35.180] you. So moving forward, if you want to learn more, [00:22:37.357] um if you want to learn about one of the specific [00:22:39.577] literature resources as opposed to the cross [00:22:41.660] search or maybe you just want to dive deeper into the cross [00:22:43.788] search, you have access to a customer [00:22:45.959] success manager through who can really help [00:22:48.038] you out with that. They worked with Les [00:22:50.357] and with schools across the nation. So they have [00:22:52.380] a lot of great best practices that can [00:22:54.528] help you. [00:22:57.130] really target exactly how you want to [00:22:59.150] use this resource. If you don't know who [00:23:01.199] your customer success manager is, you can [00:23:03.278] just send a quick email to gil at customer success [00:23:06.259] at dot com. You're going to be forwarded to [00:23:08.269] the correct individual who can help you? [00:23:10.587] You also of course have access to your wonderful, [00:23:12.930] Sales consultant. So if you want to discuss [00:23:15.959] accessing any of the different Gale literature [00:23:18.317] resources, feel free to [00:23:20.660] reach out to them. If you don't know who your sales consultant [00:23:23.009] is, you can just go to support the [00:23:25.140] dot com forward slash [00:23:26.689] rainer and you'll be able to find that individual [00:23:30.058] and you'll also have access to a support site. [00:23:32.097] So I mentioned at the very beginning of this session, [00:23:34.439] if you're looking for webinars or other training [00:23:36.719] tools related to any of your gale literature [00:23:38.930] resources, you're going to find them on our [00:23:40.959] support site which is support dot [00:23:43.058] Gale dot com. Most likely we have things created [00:24:05.403] for you [00:24:06.719] and I do have a training survey. [00:24:09.140] If you have the time to take it, it's going to pop [00:24:11.278] up on your browser when we close out [00:24:13.410] of the session today, but I've also put it here as [00:24:15.577] a QR code, so if you have your phone handy, [00:24:17.650] feel free to scan that and fill that out [00:24:19.680] for us. it's always appreciated.
