[00:00:05.288] The Gale In Context: for educators assessments. [00:00:08.380] My name is Amber Winters and I'm your training consultant [00:00:10.788] for the day. [00:00:12.788] So our agenda today we're here for an hour. [00:00:15.069] So we're going to be able to cover every single thing we [00:00:17.158] need to cover and we're going to be able to answer [00:00:19.170] every single question we have but I'm [00:00:21.190] going to go very briefly into what exactly [00:00:23.489] Gale In Context: For Educators is. I'm assuming [00:00:25.850] the majority of you on the line already know [00:00:27.920] that because this is a more advanced session. [00:00:29.949] But I do just want to make sure we're on equal [00:00:32.158] footing. When we're talking about galling context for [00:00:34.200] educators [00:00:35.399] After that. We're really going to dive right into the [00:00:37.539] assessments. We're going to talk about where [00:00:39.618] you can find them. The content [00:00:41.679] included, how they're graded all that good stuff. [00:00:44.779] We're going to launch into the resource [00:00:46.929] and really walk through each of those different [00:00:49.189] kind of bits of information as well as [00:00:51.209] some of the work flows. That might be helpful for you [00:00:53.959] And then I have put here at the very end of the session, [00:00:56.240] a time for questions as well as contact [00:00:58.347] information. But again since we have [00:01:00.359] an hour's worth of time, I should [00:01:02.399] be able to answer all of your questions as we move through [00:01:04.430] the session. So I don't feel like you need to wait until the very [00:01:06.638] end to ask your questions, just go ahead [00:01:08.760] and pop it into the Q. And A. And I should be able to get [00:01:10.778] to it So [00:01:13.129] first let's talk just very [00:01:15.188] basically what Gale In context for educators [00:01:17.557] is. So this is as the name would suggest [00:01:20.069] our educator focused resource. So [00:01:22.299] this is where you as an educator are going [00:01:24.489] to find some prebuilt lesson plans [00:01:26.557] spanning from social studies to science [00:01:28.819] literature, C T E. Social [00:01:30.849] emotional learn learning. The list goes [00:01:33.073] on. So we've created those with [00:01:35.484] your gale resources in mind and we've built [00:01:37.973] lesson plans around the content you have [00:01:40.033] access to and all of our content [00:01:42.093] is linked to both state and national standards. [00:01:44.854] So it's really simple to kind of pull content [00:01:47.164] directly related to to those different standards. [00:01:51.277] In addition to that. This is a really simple way for you [00:01:53.348] to access all of your in context [00:01:55.408] suites. So I do want to mention that, [00:01:57.698] say when we walk through my instance, [00:01:59.799] it might look slightly different than yours just [00:02:02.057] because I have a different collection [00:02:04.239] of in context resources than what you might have. [00:02:06.870] So it will search through your entire [00:02:09.240] in context suite though, to pull all of the content you [00:02:11.318] need, and again we do link everything [00:02:13.679] to standard. So you will be able to search or [00:02:15.788] browse by standard or by [00:02:17.829] a specific subject. [00:02:20.468] And finally, this resource allows for complete [00:02:22.878] collaboration between colleagues. [00:02:25.250] So we have a nice folder, organization that's going [00:02:27.389] to keep you organized for yourself. But [00:02:29.429] it's also going to let you send organized content [00:02:31.669] to your peers if you want to maybe work [00:02:33.710] back and forth or just share information that [00:02:35.750] you've found, you'll be able to do that. [00:02:38.449] And we also have a function that's going to allow you [00:02:40.550] to send your curated folders to students. [00:02:43.258] So you can build folders specifically for students [00:02:45.449] so they can read any materials you have, [00:02:47.770] And now that we've added these great assessments, [00:02:49.960] those folders that you can share it with. Students are [00:02:51.968] going to be really handy because you'll be able [00:02:54.087] to send that out and students will be able to complete those assessments [00:02:56.837] right on the platform. [00:02:59.819] So let's talk about them. That's why we're all here [00:03:01.929] today. So a very [00:03:04.020] basic understanding of our assessments [00:03:06.057] now. These are formative. They're not summ [00:03:09.330] but we do have assessments for every lesson [00:03:11.367] planned now. So if you do tend to use scaling [00:03:13.468] context for educators and navigate [00:03:15.669] through to the lesson plan section, you'll find [00:03:17.848] assessments attached to each of those. [00:03:21.128] They are also accessible through search [00:03:23.139] and browse. So our assessments [00:03:25.307] are related to one piece of content. Maybe [00:03:27.568] it's a video, maybe it's a reading. [00:03:29.669] And the lesson plan will utilize that piece of [00:03:31.728] content and we utilize that assessment. [00:03:34.649] So you will be able to not only find it attached [00:03:36.688] to the lesson plan, but you'll also be able [00:03:38.829] to access it through searching and browsing [00:03:40.848] and finding pieces of content with [00:03:43.307] those assessments attached and we'll take a look [00:03:45.449] what's great is we've made a little flag to make it really [00:03:47.468] easy for you to see what exactly [00:03:49.490] has an assessment and what doesn't. [00:03:52.367] And finally I recently added bits [00:03:54.508] is going to be the student assessment. Sign in [00:03:56.587] because of course if they don't sign in, we can't give [00:03:58.628] you their grades. So we do have [00:04:00.658] a nice student sign in now that's going to [00:04:02.818] allow them to take their to [00:04:04.818] take their assessment submit it for [00:04:06.919] you and then you're going to see it right on the platform. [00:04:10.899] So a few features for our assessments. [00:04:13.139] First off, it's going to be five questions. [00:04:15.158] So again, it's really a nice little formative [00:04:17.588] quiz. It's not going to be a full long [00:04:19.879] summ of exam, but it's five [00:04:21.980] questions and it's going to be kind of a mix [00:04:24.237] of multiple choice, true or false [00:04:26.600] fill in the blank or short answer. [00:04:28.660] So you may have you know, three [00:04:30.677] multiple choice, you may have one, you may have two, it's [00:04:32.829] going to vary depending on what quiz you're [00:04:34.838] looking at, but you will have five questions [00:04:37.220] in total to ask students. [00:04:41.028] and when you do decide to send out this assessment, [00:04:43.649] you can actually get different links for different groups. [00:04:46.278] So of course a lot of individuals choose [00:04:48.449] to break it up by hours, so your [00:04:50.579] first hour, first hour will have a separate [00:04:52.920] link in your second hour. so you [00:04:55.069] get your grading results separately from [00:04:57.129] each other so it's really easy to transition [00:04:59.509] that to wherever you need it to go But of course [00:05:01.548] you can break it up in a different way if you have [00:05:04.028] some different groups within one hour and you want [00:05:06.088] to break up their grades, you can do that. [00:05:08.129] this is completely editable by you and [00:05:10.230] you can add as many or as few [00:05:12.649] class links as you want to. And you'll [00:05:14.720] see in my screenshot here, not only can [00:05:16.737] you just pull a link and share that out with the students, you can [00:05:18.759] also share it out on google classroom. [00:05:20.920] So if you prefer to do it that way, we still have [00:05:23.000] that feature that capability right there. [00:05:26.269] and finally you're going to have student results [00:05:28.350] right on the platform and your student results [00:05:30.677] are going to be found under the my class [00:05:32.778] resources section. So just like where [00:05:34.899] your folders are, we've decided to put all [00:05:37.149] of the assessment results there as well to make it really [00:05:39.379] simple for you to find them [00:05:41.798] and kind of take a look whenever you need them. [00:05:46.459] now. I really want to dive in so we can see the different [00:05:48.737] workloads that are going to help you guys utilize [00:05:50.778] this content but before I do are [00:05:52.879] there any questions just about this basic [00:05:55.028] information that I went over. [00:06:02.358] Ok. [00:06:03.949] I don't see any. So let's go ahead and get rolling. [00:06:06.028] Then let me make sure I wasn't signed out here. [00:06:08.129] I've left left this open on my browser for a bit, [00:06:10.338] nope, I'm still signed in [00:06:12.449] So I'm here on my home page. I've already signed [00:06:14.730] in just to save us a little bit of time. [00:06:17.048] I first want to show you [00:06:18.910] what these quizzes are going to look like within [00:06:21.048] lesson plans. Again, we have included [00:06:23.230] assessments for every single lesson plan, [00:06:25.309] so a lot of times. That's a great way to find assessments [00:06:27.709] for the most part. So instead [00:06:30.139] of searching right now I'm actually going to go up [00:06:32.220] here to my lessons plan option [00:06:37.119] once I click into this here, it's going to take a quick [00:06:39.250] second to load. I want to remind everyone [00:06:41.278] you can narrow down here using our filters, [00:06:43.600] so it's going to default to showing you every [00:06:45.838] single lesson plan we have, which is going to be [00:06:48.100] K through 12 every subject. [00:06:50.319] So as you can imagine, it's a lot looks like right [00:06:52.439] now we're at 1113 [00:06:54.808] lesson plans. [00:06:56.100] So if you are planning on going through this route, [00:06:58.177] I would suggest narrowing it down. Maybe you want to [00:07:00.189] choose a subject area, you'll [00:07:02.298] see if we can take a look at this scroll down, [00:07:04.358] see what's important to us. maybe [00:07:06.927] we want to take a look at media literacy today, Maybe [00:07:08.987] we're running a on that, so I can click [00:07:11.170] that and I'll have to apply [00:07:14.699] And again this workflow hasn't changed. It's [00:07:16.838] just now you're going to be able to find assessments [00:07:18.889] a bit a bit more easily. [00:07:21.278] So um let's today we'll go into decoding, [00:07:23.759] media bias here. [00:07:27.410] And this is an older grade [00:07:29.459] level. Looking like this target grade is 11 through 12. [00:07:32.509] But you'll see here now on my assessment, [00:07:34.750] on my lesson plan under [00:07:36.829] my tools, I have this little [00:07:38.970] assessments button here. [00:07:41.269] And so this is telling me that I have an assessment attached [00:07:43.608] to this, [00:07:44.519] you'll see what the name of the assessment is right [00:07:46.588] here. [00:07:49.858] and you can click on the title to get a preview. [00:07:51.959] So this is what your students will be clicking through, [00:07:58.619] but before we do anything with this, we [00:08:00.677] need to put it in a folder. Remember anything you [00:08:02.819] use within Gale In Context: For Educators. [00:08:05.220] you need to save it for yourself for later. [00:08:07.399] So let's add this to a folder so we can [00:08:09.500] start to work with this quiz here. [00:08:11.427] So I'm going to add to a folder up top [00:08:13.500] here, I'm going to create a new one. [00:08:18.889] just like always, you'll see you have all of your folders [00:08:21.309] attached here. [00:08:22.677] Um I'm just going to [00:08:25.230] add that here [00:08:27.028] and now you'll see we get this pop up now we have [00:08:29.079] the option to add lesson plan, add the [00:08:31.100] lesson plan and resources or add lesson [00:08:33.440] plan resources and assessments. [00:08:36.389] So if you are going to use [00:08:38.450] assessments, you're going to assign them to students, make sure [00:08:40.609] you always utilize this option [00:08:42.849] right here. This bottom one. So I'm going to go ahead [00:08:44.960] and click that and it's going to stay up to my new [00:08:47.090] folder here. [00:08:49.408] and it looks like we have a question from [00:08:51.989] Christina. So can you modify the assessment? [00:08:54.629] for right now we don't have the ability [00:08:56.649] to modify the assessment. So when you do send [00:08:58.798] an assessment over to students, it is [00:09:01.168] going to go over with all five questions, [00:09:03.509] they're going to have access to all five. [00:09:07.899] Ok, so I've added these three documents here, so [00:09:09.979] I'm going to open that folder now so we can take a look [00:09:12.168] at what this looks like on [00:09:14.330] our my class resources [00:09:16.719] section here. So again, if you're just trying [00:09:18.879] to get directly to a folder as opposed to going [00:09:21.057] through how I did, you can click into my class [00:09:23.139] resources up top here. [00:09:26.090] and that will pull you right here, but I just [00:09:28.320] clicked it right into my folder here. [00:09:31.177] and you'll see I have the lesson plan and it looks like [00:09:33.239] we have two different bits of content that are attached [00:09:35.538] to this lesson plan. We have one chart and [00:09:37.807] we have one topic overview. [00:09:40.139] So looking through here, you'll see my topic [00:09:42.500] overview is the one that has the quiz [00:09:44.519] attached. [00:09:46.009] So students are going to need to read this topic [00:09:48.210] overview to be able to take this quiz here. [00:09:51.918] So let's go ahead and click into this media biased [00:09:54.307] topic overview and we can kind of see [00:09:56.859] what you can do and what students can do [00:10:00.399] Thank you. So this is still the educator [00:10:02.719] view. I haven't taken a look at a student view at all [00:10:04.750] yet. You'll see this is [00:10:06.769] defaulted to turning on, so [00:10:08.869] the quiz is defaulted to being visible to students [00:10:11.330] if you want to assign this piece [00:10:13.340] of content to students, but you don't actually want them [00:10:15.408] to take the assessment right now. You can turn [00:10:17.489] this off, but it does default to on here. [00:10:21.200] and everything else will be the same for your students. [00:10:24.349] So let's take a look now and see what students [00:10:26.369] are actually going to see here. So I have [00:10:28.418] this all ready to go. [00:10:29.859] I'm going to select my student view of top [00:10:31.908] here. and [00:10:37.889] now, once it loads up for me here, [00:10:40.609] there we go. Now, remember, I didn't add, [00:10:42.750] I'm sorry, not remember, but I didn't add an [00:10:44.759] instructor's notes, so that's why you don't see [00:10:46.807] it here, but now your students, if [00:10:49.009] you do have this enabled for your [00:10:51.028] students to see, they're going to get this little [00:10:53.190] assignments option here, so you'll see, they get [00:10:55.307] this not started button [00:10:57.168] and they'll be able to click right in um since I'm [00:10:59.369] signed in as an educator, I can't click in here, [00:11:01.869] students will be doing that but this is [00:11:03.889] what they're going to see and if it's completed, they're [00:11:06.009] going to see a little completed option here as [00:11:08.057] opposed to this, not started [00:11:11.259] So let me jump back here again [00:11:13.340] to the instructor view. [00:11:21.899] So now if I have this all ready to go, maybe I do [00:11:24.057] decide to add an instructor's note just [00:11:26.288] um, you know, [00:11:27.389] make sure you take this quiz for monday [00:11:29.519] or something like that. I can do that as well. [00:11:31.570] And then the instructor's note will appear in addition [00:11:34.009] to the assessments here. So I do have the option [00:11:36.389] for both of those. [00:11:38.788] But now I wanna get this content out to students. [00:11:40.807] I've decided, yep, this quiz is perfect, this [00:11:42.950] is what we need. [00:11:44.009] I'm going to hit my send to button which [00:11:46.239] is up top here at this little um paper [00:11:48.288] airplane. [00:11:50.798] And when I hit send to, I'm going to click [00:11:52.989] on this, get shareable student link [00:11:55.070] here when [00:11:57.090] I do that, this is where I'm going to be able to decide [00:11:59.677] what different classes I want here. So [00:12:01.739] again, I can include as many as I want. You'll [00:12:03.840] see right now it defaults to having [00:12:05.899] class number one. That's just what you're going to see [00:12:08.057] if you've never done anything with assessments [00:12:10.307] yet but I can start adding more so you'll [00:12:12.408] see here. I already have a first hour added for [00:12:14.479] an assessment I did previously. Maybe [00:12:17.019] I also want to have second hour. [00:12:19.210] They're also going to be working on it. literary [00:12:22.158] media literacy. So [00:12:24.427] I can select the second hour create [00:12:26.528] class. And again, I have another separate link [00:12:28.719] here so I can really [00:12:30.769] simply copy and paste these wherever I want [00:12:32.840] them to go. Again, we do have our google [00:12:35.369] classroom integration if you prefer to send [00:12:37.570] it out that way. [00:12:38.830] If you're using an L MS or want to give [00:12:41.000] information to students via L MS, [00:12:43.298] You may want to consider just copying this link [00:12:45.369] and posting it into whatever assignment you're [00:12:47.427] working on. If you're building maybe a discussion [00:12:49.719] board post again you can copy and paste that [00:12:51.788] there and students will be able to click in, [00:12:54.038] they'll be prompted to sign in [00:12:56.307] with a nice clean, simple way to sign in [00:12:58.399] with their google or Microsoft [00:13:00.580] accounts [00:13:01.609] and they'll be able to sign in and get started [00:13:03.940] on that quiz [00:13:10.509] Now. Quickly any questions about how you [00:13:12.580] can get the assessments over to [00:13:14.649] your kiddos at all [00:13:20.278] Ok, [00:13:21.677] I don't see any. So I do [00:13:23.849] want to show you what a piece of content [00:13:26.259] looks like when it has an attached [00:13:28.519] assessment in a search result. So [00:13:30.840] if instead of going through a lesson plan, you just [00:13:32.989] search for a topic and you wanted to [00:13:35.369] maybe click into only things that have [00:13:39.119] assessments attached. [00:13:41.288] What I'm going to do just to save time is I'm actually [00:13:43.418] going to pull this article up [00:13:45.509] as if it were in a search result. So I'm just going [00:13:47.639] to advance search by its document number. [00:13:50.889] again, just so we can see exactly what this [00:13:53.250] particular bit of content is going to look [00:13:55.369] like here [00:13:57.210] So just pop in my document number [00:14:02.908] And of course we're right now only going to get one entry [00:14:05.139] because I'm searching the exact [00:14:07.019] bit of content, but you'll see [00:14:09.090] here. So this is the article that we were in. [00:14:11.649] You'll see. I already added it to my media [00:14:13.778] literacy folder, so it's still going to appear [00:14:16.048] here for me. [00:14:19.278] and we have our assessments available flagged [00:14:21.599] right here. [00:14:23.440] So as you're going through, if you did run a full [00:14:25.849] basic search for whatever topic you're looking [00:14:28.009] for, if we have any assessments [00:14:30.250] related to bits of content, they're going to appear [00:14:32.349] here right next to all of these other flags. [00:14:34.570] So you are most likely familiar with these [00:14:36.710] different guys. But we've included this assessments [00:14:39.028] available one here as well to make it just a little [00:14:41.278] bit easier for you to find that content. So [00:14:43.908] you're not going to have to kind of point and click through all [00:14:46.009] of their different bits of content to find something that [00:14:48.080] has an assessment attached to it. [00:14:52.139] But again, you do have to make sure you send this [00:14:54.177] bit of contents over to a folder, otherwise [00:14:56.460] you're not going to be able to do anything with it [00:14:58.509] at all. you always have to send to a [00:15:00.528] folder here. [00:15:02.918] So now let's take a look at how we can actually [00:15:05.070] find these results here. So [00:15:07.149] I'm going to go back to my class resources, [00:15:09.418] which again, is where all of your folders are housed [00:15:11.538] and is now where all of your assignments [00:15:14.000] or your assessments are going to be found. [00:15:16.469] So we can get to those two different ways here [00:15:19.639] You'll see now under the my class resources [00:15:21.658] option. I have an assessment [00:15:23.677] button here that's going to pull forward [00:15:25.927] all of the assessments I have assigned and [00:15:28.048] gotten responses to. So [00:15:30.298] you'll see right now. I don't have my media literacy [00:15:32.528] quiz. So I just added to a folder because I haven't sent [00:15:34.739] it anywhere and I haven't gotten any results. [00:15:37.139] These are the only quizzes I've gotten [00:15:39.239] results from [00:15:40.658] so I can click into my assignments to see all [00:15:42.879] of the quizzes or if I want to. [00:15:45.019] We're gonna go back to folders. [00:15:47.519] and I'm going to click into my social studies folder. [00:15:51.080] For this I have the same quiz listed [00:15:53.399] here attached to the piece of content [00:15:55.519] so you can access either way whichever [00:15:57.609] way you want to is perfectly fine but [00:16:00.009] I can click now you'll see right next [00:16:02.099] to this. I have a little trash can if I just want to get rid of [00:16:04.158] this quiz or next to that, I have [00:16:06.239] this little bar graph icon and this is [00:16:08.330] where I'm going to be able to pull my results [00:16:14.570] There we go. [00:16:15.619] And you'll see, I've only had a few students take it. Unfortunately [00:16:18.408] they might not have fully grasped [00:16:20.469] what I was trying to teach them, you'll see their their [00:16:22.548] scores aren't ideal. But [00:16:24.918] first it's going to show you the student scores [00:16:27.090] by item here, so it's just showing you what they got [00:16:29.099] correct and what they got wrong, a really [00:16:31.129] simple kind of way to click through that you [00:16:33.359] can hover over and you'll see how much time they spent [00:16:35.649] on each of these. [00:16:39.538] and you'll be able to pull that content, you can download [00:16:41.820] this as an Excel sheet if [00:16:43.899] you prefer to keep it that way, maybe you're planning on exporting [00:16:46.460] it somewhere else. You can do that right here. [00:16:50.119] I can also change my report type here, [00:16:52.830] so it does default to that student scores [00:16:55.109] by item but I can change it here to class [00:16:57.379] responses at a glance. [00:17:02.609] and now again I can pull this out as an excel [00:17:04.769] sheet if I want to keep it and maybe save it somewhere [00:17:06.890] else. Or I can just click through here [00:17:09.028] and take a look so this is telling me what, [00:17:11.709] not only what they got right, but what they got wrong [00:17:13.910] and what they put as their answer here [00:17:20.489] and you'll see this one here doesn't have [00:17:22.867] a grade attached. That's because this one [00:17:25.000] is a short answer. [00:17:27.469] So right now we don't grade any of the short [00:17:29.558] answer questions. So if there is one [00:17:31.759] included in whatever quiz you're sharing out [00:17:35.729] Um, [00:17:37.038] you'll be able to pull that and kind of grade it yourself. [00:17:39.278] And it looks like I have a quick [00:17:41.750] question, it looks like my screen is [00:17:43.817] frozen for someone. Um Does anyone [00:17:46.048] else see my screen as frozen? Right [00:17:48.058] now? I'm moving my [00:17:50.180] my mouse around. I'm going to click back to my [00:17:52.269] folders page if someone doesn't mind, [00:17:54.489] go ahead and put in the Q and A. If you are seeing [00:17:56.587] that frozen screen as well, [00:18:00.189] Ok. It looks like we've got some good [00:18:02.317] responses from other individuals. So um [00:18:04.769] Nicky I would suggest hop on and come [00:18:06.857] back or hop off and come back on. It might just [00:18:09.097] be our connection is maybe a little bit funky. [00:18:11.308] Oh Nicky. There we go. It move, start moving again. [00:18:13.337] Perfect. Um [00:18:15.750] Ok, let me go ahead and get these questions on [00:18:17.769] here. and [00:18:21.150] we've got another question pop up here. Let me go ahead [00:18:23.199] and read this quickly [00:18:27.857] So can you have an an option to release grades [00:18:30.000] after you grade a free response one or does it [00:18:32.180] release right away? [00:18:34.019] Um So Jill I'm assuming. Um [00:18:36.650] you mean release to students [00:18:38.959] and right now it doesn't release to students [00:18:41.380] if you are a [00:18:42.380] um so I believe right now it doesn't release to [00:18:44.489] students if you want to look at the grades, you'll have [00:18:46.587] to forward those along to students but [00:18:48.680] I'm going to verify with our product manager [00:18:51.107] that that's still the problem process because we have had a few [00:18:53.364] updates. Um So I do want to verify [00:18:55.824] but I believe if you want those grades to go out [00:18:57.884] to students, you'll have to share those out. They [00:18:59.992] won't kind of push out automatically [00:19:02.125] but let me verify that and I will [00:19:04.222] shoot you a quick email, I have your contact [00:19:06.712] number here, [00:19:13.680] Ok, So I don't have any questions [00:19:15.778] but I do want to show you all [00:19:17.798] Well first let me ask are [00:19:20.219] there any questions about what we went over? What's [00:19:22.229] great is the assessments feature is pretty straightforward. [00:19:25.519] It's really simple to kind of find [00:19:27.577] the assessment assign it to students, just like [00:19:29.660] you would in a [00:19:30.827] you would assign a regular folder [00:19:33.028] and I automatically get those results [00:19:39.048] Ok. Jill thank you for your feedback. I [00:19:41.067] will verify to see um if you [00:19:43.180] can release manually or not. [00:19:44.989] Um I agree with you. It would be, it would be [00:19:47.000] a nice option so I will let you know [00:19:49.067] what I what I hear back from my product manager, [00:19:54.199] Oh I will let you know one thing I didn't show [00:19:56.778] you is what a folder is going to look like in [00:19:58.817] student view with an assessment [00:20:01.067] attached, I think I can click into a folder [00:20:03.327] really fast to show you that. So just like [00:20:05.519] with our content [00:20:07.597] themselves, there's a student view if you share [00:20:09.689] it, the full folder, there will be a [00:20:11.962] student view as well, so I click into my [00:20:14.594] media literacy folder, which is that one [00:20:16.755] that I just recently created, So you'll see there's [00:20:18.795] only three bits of content. let's [00:20:21.035] take a look at the student view so we can get a feel of [00:20:23.472] what it's going to look like. If you send this whole thing, [00:20:26.489] Now remember when I sent all that information [00:20:28.567] over from the lesson plan, what [00:20:30.759] we had attached was obviously the lesson plan [00:20:32.847] itself and then two pieces of content. [00:20:35.288] So you'll notice here [00:20:36.910] right now we just have those two pieces of content [00:20:39.048] because our lesson plans don't show up in student [00:20:41.259] facing folders, [00:20:42.949] but you'll see here. The quiz is still listed underneath, [00:20:45.449] just like it's listed in the instructor [00:20:47.910] view so students can click into this article, [00:20:50.209] read the article and then they'll be able to answer [00:20:52.449] those questions. [00:20:54.910] back to instructor view here. [00:20:58.759] and again if you decided to not make that visible [00:21:01.058] to students you'll see you can do that using this visible [00:21:03.298] to students buttons [00:21:05.269] You can turn that off and now they won't see it. So if you're [00:21:07.317] not ready for them to take the to the quiz [00:21:09.367] yet you can hide it. You don't have to [00:21:11.548] um assign the piece of content with [00:21:13.630] the quiz [00:21:16.558] And we have a quick question about new [00:21:19.229] standards. So how often are the products [00:21:21.519] updated if the state has new standards? [00:21:23.900] So Christina, we do update continuously [00:21:26.390] and we do follow along with changes [00:21:28.400] both in state and national standards. [00:21:30.759] So we do try to keep us up to date [00:21:32.867] as possible when those things are published. [00:21:40.989] Ok? I don't see any questions. So I'm going [00:21:43.097] to go ahead and jump to my support site because [00:21:45.288] I do want to show you where you could find some additional info. [00:21:47.400] So if you are a librarian [00:21:49.617] on the line or an admin who's going [00:21:51.817] to be teaching um [00:21:53.798] your teachers how to use this, teaching your educators, [00:21:56.140] we have some support tools that can help you out with [00:21:58.199] that just to make it a little bit easier. [00:22:00.439] So on our support site which is just support [00:22:02.528] dot Yale dot com. [00:22:04.489] we have a whole page related to Gale In Context [00:22:06.969] for educators. [00:22:08.278] I am going to find that just by browsing [00:22:10.719] through products that I'm going to pull up Gale [00:22:13.107] in context for educators. [00:22:20.117] We've recently added a few new bits of content [00:22:22.680] that are really going to be helpful for assessment [00:22:24.798] specifically. So you'll see. We [00:22:26.847] have our full training section [00:22:29.317] here, so we have a few gifts, We have [00:22:31.400] some great activities. We do have a full presentation [00:22:34.038] for instructors that you can utilize. [00:22:37.680] scrolling down here. Some lessons [00:22:40.140] for students. [00:22:44.028] But I want to scroll all the way down to our principal [00:22:46.650] tools here. So we've got a few new [00:22:48.890] ones. You'll see. We have new flags listed here. [00:22:51.808] But we have an assessment tip [00:22:54.019] sheets specifically for educators [00:22:56.077] who are planning on utilizing assessments [00:22:58.509] that you can really simply download when I click into [00:23:00.630] it here. [00:23:02.719] It's just a nice Pdf that's going to help [00:23:05.038] them understand. It is a little bit longer because [00:23:07.189] we wanted to make sure we included [00:23:09.288] every bit about assessments that [00:23:11.380] your your teachers are going to need to know, [00:23:13.709] but you can pull that forward and utilize [00:23:15.837] as needed. [00:23:17.288] And we also have a bit [00:23:19.028] a bit of information about how [00:23:21.259] students are going to see assessments. [00:23:24.298] So you'll see here. We have a gale in context for [00:23:26.327] educators assessing, accessing [00:23:29.259] assessments, students [00:23:31.640] tips. [00:23:35.009] So you'll see this is very similar, but this is going [00:23:37.048] to be great to give directly to students. [00:23:39.269] It is a one pager, so really simple [00:23:41.430] and easy to print out. but this is [00:23:43.439] going to tell them how exactly they're going [00:23:45.548] to get into this resource, so it's going [00:23:47.640] to show them what they need to sign in. [00:23:50.750] and then what an assignment is going to look like when [00:23:52.827] it's attached to a page and then what an assignment [00:23:54.910] is going to look like while they're actually filling [00:23:57.209] it out. So [00:24:00.920] again, this content is all found on our support [00:24:03.009] site which is support.gale.com [00:24:05.689] and this information will be sent to you [00:24:08.150] with the email with the recording. [00:24:10.347] So if you want to forward those along to educators, [00:24:12.670] you'll be able to do that right here. [00:24:18.660] No, I still haven't seen any questions pop [00:24:20.867] up here and we have quite a bit of time left over. [00:24:23.038] I scheduled this for a longer [00:24:25.048] session because I wanted to make sure we had every question [00:24:27.357] answered but I haven't gotten money. So [00:24:30.038] let me go ahead and just jump back [00:24:32.337] to my slides here while [00:24:34.449] I'm doing that. Go ahead and type any questions you have [00:24:36.880] into the Q. And A.
