[00:00:05.070] Welcome in again everyone. Today. We're taking [00:00:07.368] a look at the enhancements that we've recently [00:00:09.429] made to Gale Business: Plan Builder. My [00:00:11.669] name is Amber Winters and I am a senior training [00:00:13.898] consultant here at Gale and I'm excited to [00:00:15.919] be with you today. [00:00:17.250] So our agenda first, I want to talk about the resource [00:00:20.048] and just briefly go over kind of the basics [00:00:22.318] of the enhancements that we've included in [00:00:24.359] this recent launch. Then we're going [00:00:26.388] to walk through the platform. We'll spend the majority of the [00:00:28.449] time in the walkthrough. So you can really [00:00:30.519] see how all of the new features kind of flow together [00:00:33.200] and how the platform looks a little bit different and [00:00:35.250] is a bit more streamlined for your users. [00:00:38.380] And at the end of the session, we will have some wrap [00:00:40.408] up time for any questions you all have. And I do [00:00:42.490] have some contact information for you as [00:00:44.539] well, but we should be able [00:00:46.630] to answer questions as we're moving through this session [00:00:48.750] today. So don't feel like you need to wait until the end. [00:00:51.000] If you have a question, feel free to ask [00:00:53.039] it and I can answer it as we move through today. [00:00:56.728] So for anyone not familiar with Gale [00:00:58.899] Business Plan Builder, just a very brief over [00:01:01.189] overview for you. So we can all get on the same page [00:01:03.389] here. So Plan Builder is going to be a [00:01:05.500] step by step business planning [00:01:07.588] tool. So this is going to be for [00:01:09.609] your entrepreneurs who are just planning [00:01:11.680] on starting a business. This might be for [00:01:13.709] current small business owners who [00:01:16.058] maybe need to get themselves organized, maybe [00:01:18.239] they need to pivot their business. This is [00:01:20.329] great for them as well to kind of take stock [00:01:22.510] of what they're doing, what they may want to do in the [00:01:24.569] future. [00:01:25.558] And this is also great for business [00:01:27.849] students. If you have business students coming into [00:01:29.969] your library or if they have anyone on [00:01:32.168] the line from K 12 or academic schools, [00:01:34.579] this is great for those students oftentimes [00:01:37.069] throughout business curriculums throughout business [00:01:39.439] courses, they are required to make business [00:01:41.459] plans so they can do that right here on the platform, [00:01:43.909] download it and turn it in for whatever [00:01:46.159] they're doing. And this resource [00:01:48.370] is built to support both for [00:01:50.379] profit and nonprofit companies. So if [00:01:52.439] you have nonprofits [00:01:54.480] companies looking for support from [00:01:56.569] you, they will benefit from this resource as [00:01:58.629] well. And [00:02:01.338] in addition to just the standard business [00:02:03.459] planning features, we also have [00:02:05.569] some great detailed scenario planning. [00:02:07.870] So this really comes in handy for your patrons [00:02:10.008] who are just starting off who are, may [00:02:12.308] be thinking of maybe two different locations for their [00:02:14.379] business or two different business [00:02:16.569] models or maybe selling two different things, [00:02:18.819] they can create different scenarios [00:02:21.028] and fill out their business plans for each of them to kind [00:02:23.169] of see how things would pan out, especially [00:02:25.179] things like the financial projections, [00:02:27.419] the break even analysis and things like that. [00:02:31.750] And finally, we do include supplemental [00:02:33.849] supporting materials. So as your [00:02:36.038] patrons are getting into the resource, starting [00:02:38.050] to build their business plan, most likely [00:02:40.179] they may run into things they're not quite sure about, [00:02:42.528] especially in the financial section. [00:02:44.550] We've seen a lot of patrons kind of struggle [00:02:46.849] with that, especially if they're new to business. [00:02:48.969] So we've included a great learning library that's [00:02:51.099] going to help them out. They'll be able to, you [00:02:53.210] know, read about key terms, read about [00:02:55.319] key topics to really better understand [00:02:57.830] how they're going to fund their business, run their business. [00:03:00.368] Um work through [00:03:02.500] hr processes, things like that. [00:03:06.270] Any questions about Gil business plan builder [00:03:08.508] just in general before we kind of get [00:03:10.588] started on some of the enhancements. [00:03:15.830] OK? [00:03:16.750] I don't see any. So let's go and get going. [00:03:18.969] So first off, even with all of our enhancements, [00:03:21.599] we've kept our integration with our other business [00:03:23.949] resources. So if your library currently [00:03:26.319] has access to gale business entrepreneurship, [00:03:29.270] gale, business demographics now or [00:03:31.360] gale legal forms, they will automatically [00:03:33.395] be integrated into gil business [00:03:35.485] plan builders So your patrons using [00:03:37.544] the integrated resources button, right at the top [00:03:39.574] of the page will be able to navigate into [00:03:41.724] any of these three resources or two. [00:03:44.163] If you only have access to two or one, if you only [00:03:46.213] have access to the one, and we'll be able to [00:03:48.314] research in a new tab. So again, if they're [00:03:50.335] building out their business plan and they're just [00:03:52.383] really stuck on one specific idea, [00:03:54.425] maybe they're working through a SWAT analysis [00:03:56.794] and they're just really struggling, [00:03:58.849] they can click into those integrated resources. [00:04:01.149] It'll open in a new tab for them and they'll be able [00:04:03.308] to kind of get the information they need, come [00:04:05.550] back to plan builder and keep going, keep [00:04:07.729] um working on that [00:04:09.618] plan there. [00:04:11.639] So let's talk a little bit about our recent enhancement. [00:04:14.219] So this is the new home page, we call it a dashboard, [00:04:17.199] but this is the new layout here. So [00:04:19.329] you notice on the left hand side, we've streamlined [00:04:21.660] our navigation. It's now just focused here [00:04:24.139] on the left and we've done this to [00:04:26.579] kind of help your users [00:04:28.809] pull to one specific area. We've gotten [00:04:31.000] a lot of feedback about our previous [00:04:33.040] platform with the multiple [00:04:35.088] access points. It was just a little bit cluttered. [00:04:37.100] So we've decided to streamline that. Now [00:04:39.129] all of the access is going to appear here on the left [00:04:41.358] hand side and you'll see that actually [00:04:43.420] opens up in the middle here for some [00:04:45.500] detailed information about the individual's [00:04:47.850] business. So as your patron enters in information, [00:04:50.709] they're now going to see that on the dashboard where they [00:04:52.809] previously couldn't. [00:04:55.259] In addition to that, we have a new pick up where [00:04:57.410] you left off section on this dashboard [00:04:59.559] or this home page that's going to take [00:05:01.809] patrons directly to wherever they were previously. [00:05:03.910] So if this is their second time on the resource, [00:05:06.250] we don't want them to have to kind of remember where [00:05:08.269] they clicked where they were in this list of [00:05:10.629] navigation. We want them to get back to where [00:05:12.649] they were easily. This was a feature that was [00:05:14.750] often requested. So we've added it. [00:05:16.970] So they're on the home page, the dashboard, [00:05:19.189] they'll be able to go right back to wherever they were previously [00:05:23.108] also added onto this home page is [00:05:25.428] a download and email tile [00:05:27.449] or a square or box or whatever you want to call [00:05:29.649] it over here on this right hand [00:05:31.678] side and we have always had download [00:05:33.949] and email features on the dashboard, but previously, [00:05:36.358] they were smaller buttons, sometimes [00:05:38.519] a little bit hidden. So we've pulled those on [00:05:40.720] the home page and now they're very clearly right [00:05:42.939] here. Your patients will be able to choose how [00:05:45.160] they want to download or email. They'll be able to choose [00:05:47.420] the different file types, the different sections [00:05:49.899] and they'll be able to simply download our email right [00:05:52.059] here off this page. [00:05:54.959] In addition to that we have included [00:05:57.189] a learning library. So those supplemental resources, [00:06:00.100] we've pulled them all together previously, they [00:06:02.149] were found within each individual [00:06:04.509] navigation section. [00:06:06.588] So entrepreneur profile will [00:06:08.678] have its own resources, business ideation, [00:06:11.588] things like that. We've decided to pull all [00:06:13.750] of those forward now into this great learning [00:06:15.759] library. So if your patrons click into [00:06:17.829] this button here and it is available on this [00:06:19.970] persistent URL. So they are sorry, [00:06:22.069] a persistent toolbar. So [00:06:24.269] they'll always be able to access that right there. [00:06:26.778] And you'll see it pulls forward this option to search [00:06:29.069] through some of the different resources we have available [00:06:31.689] or just to click directly into some of these different [00:06:33.838] resources. And we'll take a look at those [00:06:35.889] once we click into the platform today, but what's [00:06:38.048] great is not only do we have articles but you'll find [00:06:40.488] some video tutorials and things like that. So a [00:06:42.509] nice way to engage all of your users [00:06:47.100] and these resources will still appear underneath [00:06:49.319] the different sections, the [00:06:51.379] business plan sections. So they will still be [00:06:53.399] able to find them there. But we have again, [00:06:55.528] pulled them out separately just to make it as easy as [00:06:57.579] possible for your patrons to find what they need. [00:07:03.250] Now, I'd prefer just to go ahead and jump right into [00:07:05.379] the resource so we can take a look at how all of this [00:07:07.540] flows any questions while I'm doing [00:07:09.588] that. OK. [00:07:16.449] We've got a quiet group today. No problem. [00:07:18.790] So let's go ahead and get started here. So I already signed [00:07:20.980] into my account. So I already had one created [00:07:23.040] here. So this is my dashboard. This is what I'm [00:07:25.139] taking to directly when I sign in. So [00:07:27.319] first I want to point out before we even start [00:07:29.369] anything. Our guide me button, [00:07:31.449] which was on a previous [00:07:33.733] pre enhancement platform [00:07:35.754] has moved along to this new platform. [00:07:38.153] So if you have patrons coming in [00:07:40.384] using plan builder, who maybe you don't have time [00:07:42.574] to speak to directly to kind of direct them [00:07:44.694] on how the resource works. This guide [00:07:46.795] me button is a really great feature for them. [00:07:49.629] Just let them know it's on the home page and [00:07:51.778] it's going to walk them through [00:07:53.778] this dashboard or this home page. [00:07:56.048] So we'll be able to see all of the different sections that they [00:07:58.170] can kind of [00:07:59.488] navigate to and what they all do. [00:08:01.738] So again, that's the guide me, it's found here [00:08:03.858] on this dashboard right underneath [00:08:05.920] a great feature for anyone who's just [00:08:07.949] new to the resource and who may not be able [00:08:10.230] to meet with you to kind of go over everything. [00:08:14.108] So let's take a look at our dashboard here. So [00:08:16.149] right in the middle of the page again, remember we've removed [00:08:18.750] the navigation to the different sections [00:08:20.959] to allow for this nice your company [00:08:23.028] tile here. So I've already entered [00:08:25.129] in all of this information just from previous [00:08:27.269] sessions, but as your user [00:08:29.428] is entering in this information, you'll see it's going [00:08:31.629] to start to appear here. They [00:08:33.969] don't have to fill it all out. Some things are required [00:08:36.408] but lots aren't so a website and email [00:08:38.750] not required, but they can put it here [00:08:41.599] as they create companies. You'll see this is going [00:08:43.710] to show for profit first. [00:08:45.798] If I created a nonprofit, [00:08:47.889] I would just jump over here. [00:08:49.580] Now, this is a nonprofit company, [00:08:52.229] but I'll say in for profit businesses [00:08:54.250] today. [00:08:55.859] So this gives me some brief information. I can also [00:08:58.038] edit the information right here, [00:09:00.639] so I can change out the basic information [00:09:02.899] here. If let's say, um if [00:09:04.979] I click into optional here, maybe I have [00:09:07.298] a new website they want to include [00:09:09.340] or the state I'm in. You see, I can [00:09:11.500] do that here as well. What's great is we [00:09:13.529] can also put different identi identification [00:09:16.489] and license numbers and things like that here. [00:09:19.229] So if they have that information, they want to keep [00:09:21.359] it all collected, they'll be able to do that right here [00:09:23.548] on the home page. [00:09:26.330] And then if I want to go back to just seeing the information [00:09:28.849] as opposed to editing it, I'll just hit [00:09:30.869] view details [00:09:33.729] and now it's pulled me right back here. So now again, [00:09:35.830] I can see all of this information [00:09:38.969] and the business information is also included [00:09:41.259] up top here in this top left corner [00:09:43.658] and this gives you a little bit more detailed [00:09:45.710] information. So, so it is showing what [00:09:47.960] company you're currently using. So if [00:09:50.019] your patrons maybe have more, more [00:09:52.190] than one company built into their plan [00:09:54.219] builder, maybe their um [00:09:56.320] thinking about opening a bakery versus [00:09:58.798] a retail store versus a coffee [00:10:01.190] shop, they may have [00:10:03.298] different companies. So this is telling them which company [00:10:05.759] they're going to be working on and it defaults [00:10:08.000] to whatever company they they used last. [00:10:10.210] So if they signed off and signed back on, it's [00:10:12.308] going to stay with whatever company they were in. [00:10:15.519] This is also where it shows what scenario [00:10:18.019] is being used. And just quickly, [00:10:20.359] I like to mention the difference between a scenario [00:10:23.210] versus a company. [00:10:25.619] So a a scenario is what's [00:10:27.779] going to be happening within the same [00:10:29.918] company. So the best way I can think about [00:10:32.019] about it is having a best case and a worst [00:10:34.379] case scenario. [00:10:35.668] So the parent company is still the same, [00:10:38.019] it's still a coffee shop, maybe it's a bakery. [00:10:40.989] But what's changing is the circumstances [00:10:43.469] in which that company is functioning? [00:10:46.469] Ok. So maybe it's a different location [00:10:48.609] or maybe it's you know, going [00:10:50.629] through a pandemic as we've seen a lot [00:10:53.139] of companies unfortunately weren't prepared for that. [00:10:55.279] So that's a great way for your patrons to prepare [00:10:57.580] for something like that is to build a separate [00:10:59.590] scenario within a company. [00:11:01.668] Again, a different company is just [00:11:03.769] like a whole separate instance, a whole [00:11:05.960] different thing. They're not really related [00:11:08.009] to each other. That would be another company. [00:11:10.599] And what's great is I can easily change my company [00:11:12.859] or my scenario right up top here. [00:11:15.798] And you'll see here the company I have, [00:11:17.979] I don't know if I have anymore. I do. I have a [00:11:20.000] bakery listed here as well, [00:11:22.129] so I can choose a company [00:11:24.090] and then you'll see. I've already got a few [00:11:26.149] scenarios built out here. So again, a [00:11:28.158] best and worst case pandemic [00:11:30.308] changes if I want to maybe have [00:11:32.330] a larger storefront for my same company, [00:11:34.629] I could do [00:11:35.899] a scenario for that and [00:11:38.029] I can choose what I want and save it [00:11:40.548] up top here. This is also where I'll [00:11:42.649] edit those things. So clicking [00:11:44.769] the edit button, this should look fairly familiar. This [00:11:46.879] is kind of a, a pull over from [00:11:49.048] the pre enhancement side, but [00:11:51.070] there are a few differences. [00:11:53.099] So you'll see, this is my active company here. [00:11:55.440] I can drop it down and just like on that [00:11:57.639] home dashboard page, you'll see, it gives me [00:11:59.788] the basic company information, [00:12:01.798] but it also lists here those scenarios [00:12:05.099] and you'll see I can edit these scenarios so I can [00:12:07.250] set it as active. This is the one that's active. [00:12:09.469] Now anyways, I can edit the name, [00:12:11.590] I can make a copy if I want to. If I kind of [00:12:13.969] tweaked a lot of information, [00:12:16.320] I want to make a copy and maybe tweak [00:12:18.580] a second copy a little bit more. I [00:12:20.590] can do that here and I can also delete it. [00:12:23.769] This is where I can create a scenario as well. [00:12:26.399] When you're creating a scenario, all you're going [00:12:28.580] to need is to name the scenario to [00:12:30.668] save it for later because it's [00:12:32.769] going to kind of roll up directly into your [00:12:34.859] business plan. So you're not really worried about [00:12:37.009] adding in a new company information [00:12:39.308] or things like that because it's the same company just [00:12:41.609] functioning a little bit differently [00:12:47.019] and scrolling down here. If you have patrons [00:12:49.330] who are maybe struggling with that scenario, verse [00:12:51.418] company organization, which [00:12:53.700] is a little technical, you kind of have to get used [00:12:55.840] to it down here. We have this great kind [00:12:58.029] of layout of what the difference between a scenario [00:13:00.668] versus a company is going to be. So you'll see [00:13:03.428] what's tracked attached [00:13:05.450] to [00:13:06.529] just the company or what's [00:13:08.609] attached to a specific scenario. [00:13:11.590] So in other words, these things will change [00:13:13.869] on a scenario. This is going to stay [00:13:15.918] the same for the company as a whole. [00:13:20.619] So let's jump back to our dashboard. I can do [00:13:22.629] that by just hitting the [00:13:24.918] the address bar up top here. I'm [00:13:27.158] sorry, the toolbar. I don't know why I keep saying address [00:13:29.570] bar when I mean toolbar, I can hit [00:13:31.639] the toolbar or I can hit dashboard either [00:13:33.779] way it'll launch me back to where I started [00:13:37.710] again. On this right hand side, I have my pick [00:13:39.820] up where you left off. So this is showing me the [00:13:41.830] last time I clicked into this resource [00:13:44.330] I landed on companies and organizations [00:13:48.558] right below. That is our tile here so [00:13:50.658] I can change what I want to download. [00:13:53.298] What's great is you can download in different formats. [00:13:55.580] This was available on the, [00:13:58.009] the pre enhancements platform. [00:14:00.139] But again, it was a little bit harder to see. So [00:14:02.149] we've pulled it out here. So I could choose if [00:14:04.330] I want this profile in a PDF or [00:14:06.369] maybe I want to be able to edit it off the platform. [00:14:08.840] So it might be better to download it as a word [00:14:11.210] doc. [00:14:12.269] Some of them you'll see, you can down either download [00:14:14.558] either as a picture or as an Excel [00:14:16.940] sheet. So again, if they're planning on editing off [00:14:19.090] the platform, most likely that Excel [00:14:21.250] is going to be better than PNG, which [00:14:23.330] is an image file, [00:14:25.500] I can click over into email, [00:14:27.928] you'll see it on to that information [00:14:30.070] and then have the same options down here as [00:14:32.239] well. So we're going to attach whatever [00:14:34.719] they want to this email and whatever formatting [00:14:37.288] and what's great is they can choose none. You'll see they can [00:14:39.349] choose that in emails [00:14:41.149] or if I jump back to download, they can choose none here [00:14:43.200] as well. So maybe they didn't [00:14:45.279] work on the break even analysis and they're [00:14:47.320] not going to really mess with that right now. [00:14:49.879] They can just choose to not download that. [00:14:52.200] So it's not kind of cluttering what they have [00:14:54.210] downloaded. They're not going to have kind of an empty [00:14:56.229] area or an incomplete area. If they [00:14:58.279] just started working on it, they'll be able to [00:15:00.320] get rid of that. [00:15:03.710] And before we click into our different [00:15:05.729] options on the left hand side [00:15:07.769] here, I do just want to show you in the toolbar. [00:15:10.009] As I mentioned, the integrated resources button [00:15:12.308] is available here. [00:15:13.950] So this dropdown might look different for your [00:15:16.038] library depending on what you have access to [00:15:18.469] on my account. I do have access to these [00:15:20.639] three resources so I can easily click into [00:15:22.908] one of them [00:15:25.058] and it will load me in on a different tab so I can [00:15:27.158] start to kind of navigate through there. [00:15:30.149] But again, yours might be different, you may just have one, [00:15:32.729] you may not have any and then you won't see this, [00:15:34.889] the integrated option here [00:15:37.989] right next to that is the full learning library. [00:15:41.250] So again, that's where we've decided to house [00:15:43.330] all of the supplemental information we have listed [00:15:45.649] here. [00:15:46.940] As I mentioned, there are things like video tutorials [00:15:49.500] and then you'll find just articles about [00:15:51.658] a variety of different things you'll see. There's a lot. [00:15:54.460] So sometimes it's beneficial to have something in [00:15:56.500] mind and to use our search option [00:15:58.519] in our learning library that's usually beneficial [00:16:00.729] to kind of narrow it down to what they're [00:16:02.820] looking for. Exactly. [00:16:06.649] And then moving on from the learning library, we [00:16:08.840] also have the option to change languages here. [00:16:11.849] So this is a really handy feature for any of your patrons [00:16:14.168] coming in. whose first language [00:16:16.298] is not English. [00:16:18.058] Of course, we see a lot of patrons, Spanish [00:16:20.739] speaking patrons coming into the library so we can [00:16:22.830] change this to Spanish. [00:16:24.788] And now you'll see all of my tools, all of my [00:16:26.908] navigation here are going to be in Spanish [00:16:31.379] and they can change those at the very start of [00:16:33.798] their process and it's going to follow them along [00:16:36.298] no matter where they click. So they're not going to have to worry [00:16:38.509] about, you know, translating every [00:16:40.599] single page. It's going to navigate through [00:16:42.619] for the duration of the session. Once they sign [00:16:44.830] off though, it will default back to English. [00:16:53.219] It looks. So I have a question from Amanda is Russian, [00:16:55.418] one of the available languages. I do [00:16:57.440] not know. [00:16:59.668] Mhm mhm. [00:17:02.619] It looks like not on the platform [00:17:04.989] unless one of, unless this is Russian. [00:17:08.098] I know, I don't know Russian. So I can't tell you, but [00:17:10.140] I don't believe so. These are the ones [00:17:12.150] you'll be able to change to right here. [00:17:22.019] But feel free if you get [00:17:24.219] feedback, you know, if you have a, a large Russian [00:17:26.269] speaking population who are trying [00:17:28.549] to utilize this resource, we'd love to hear your feedback. [00:17:30.920] So anyone if you have populations [00:17:33.459] who are struggling with the resource. Christopher [00:17:36.140] does think that's Russian. Thank you. [00:17:39.979] Ok, great. I have confirmation [00:17:42.140] in the Q and A that Russian was [00:17:44.299] listed as one of these here. [00:17:46.549] I'm assuming this one. [00:17:50.380] OK. [00:17:51.979] Yes, this one is Russian. OK. Good [00:17:54.420] to know. So Russian is a language [00:17:56.479] that you can use here. Um [00:17:59.390] But again, if you see that a language [00:18:01.920] isn't available and you have a patron base [00:18:04.108] who's really in need of that, feel [00:18:06.410] free to email us. We'll get you some [00:18:08.799] some contact information at the end of the session [00:18:11.068] and you can just email us to let us know that it's [00:18:13.150] something that's needed. We always try to include as much [00:18:15.170] as possible. So if we know that there's a need, [00:18:17.430] then we do try to, to make that a priority over [00:18:19.709] some of the other things. [00:18:24.279] I'm glad I have so many people who do know Russian. [00:18:26.358] In fact, that's great. [00:18:27.949] Um Beth, I'm not sure about Korean. [00:18:30.459] Um Again, go ahead and click into [00:18:32.539] this and you can take a look, um most [00:18:35.170] likely one of these, but I'm not sure on that one either. [00:18:37.739] So go ahead and take a look once we're off the session [00:18:39.920] today, ok? [00:18:43.180] So let's go ahead and keep going here. Now, let's [00:18:45.368] take a look at our navigation. So this is, [00:18:47.608] you know, the big, the main [00:18:49.880] bulk of the resource. This is what your patrons [00:18:52.009] are going to want to start to click through and explore. [00:18:54.660] So they are the same as they were previously. [00:18:57.219] We've just kind of built them out a little bit differently. [00:18:59.880] And if I should mention if your patrons already [00:19:02.140] started a, a business plan before [00:19:04.469] these enhancements, it did transition [00:19:06.949] over. So they don't need to worry about everything being deleted [00:19:09.299] and starting over. Just so you all are aware, [00:19:11.500] it did already transfer over. [00:19:14.019] And so they'll see the same concept they had before. [00:19:16.549] The first thing I want to point out are these little icons [00:19:18.838] here and these actually change color, [00:19:21.078] you'll see. Mine are all green because they've already ran through [00:19:23.318] this resource. But if your patrons [00:19:25.598] are just starting, if they haven't completed [00:19:27.709] anything yet, these are actually going to be white. [00:19:30.358] So they're going to see exactly where they are. [00:19:32.719] So again, mine are all green because I've done it [00:19:34.750] all, but [00:19:35.750] they will start off white [00:19:37.949] so I can drop these down here and [00:19:40.068] we'll see everything I have in this section. [00:19:42.459] So we do pull our resources [00:19:44.489] out specifically here. So just [00:19:46.618] like within this learning library, but we've pulled [00:19:48.789] just the entrepreneur ones. So just [00:19:51.289] the bits that are going to be related to [00:19:53.650] creating this profile [00:19:55.828] and you'll notice this first option has a little [00:19:57.848] star attached to it. [00:19:59.680] And that's true. In a few of these, you'll see the lean canvas [00:20:02.000] has a star next to it. [00:20:05.059] Our business plan has a star. Those [00:20:07.189] stars indicate that this is what we recommend. [00:20:09.348] They start their business plan. [00:20:11.400] So each of these sections we suggest [00:20:13.549] they start with where wherever the star is. So [00:20:15.660] if I click into this here, [00:20:18.588] this will look very familiar to your patrons. [00:20:20.630] If they use this before, it should look familiar [00:20:22.750] to you as well. It hasn't changed too much. [00:20:25.199] but they'll still be able to click in [00:20:27.689] and edit whatever they need to edit here [00:20:30.420] and hit save. I want to remind everyone, please [00:20:32.828] make sure you do hit the save button. [00:20:34.789] Don't just close out. It doesn't save automatically. [00:20:37.430] We do need to hit that. I've unfortunately done [00:20:39.539] that a few times and it's kind of a bummer. So make [00:20:41.588] sure that they hit save. I do want [00:20:43.739] to point out we've included some amplifying questions [00:20:46.328] and prompts here as well. So if your [00:20:48.348] patrons are starting to click through this and they're just, [00:20:50.368] you know, are really at a loss for this. [00:20:52.719] Um All it's asking is what [00:20:54.789] do I know how to do? That is extremely [00:20:57.219] vague. It's extremely broad. So [00:20:59.259] we're trying to kind of narrow that down [00:21:01.420] for them a little bit. So what [00:21:03.588] specific skills do I have? Am I a quick [00:21:05.739] learner? So this is just helping them kind [00:21:07.858] of better understand what they can do [00:21:09.900] and how that's going to benefit or [00:21:11.910] potentially, you know harm [00:21:14.400] their business, some things they may need to look out for [00:21:19.130] so they can still fill that out just like previously [00:21:21.180] just by hitting that little pencil button [00:21:23.219] there. And you'll see we have [00:21:25.358] included the email download options [00:21:27.699] up top here. It does look a little bit [00:21:29.799] different because we have to use the full [00:21:31.949] screen for the actual [00:21:34.059] entries here. [00:21:36.400] But we do have that listed up top here. So [00:21:38.500] if they only want to pull this entrepreneur profile, [00:21:41.279] they can do that up top here. [00:21:44.640] Now, if I do want to take a look at the resources [00:21:46.920] available, I can click into the entrepreneur, [00:21:49.410] entrepreneur profile resources [00:21:52.358] and just like the learning library, you'll see [00:21:54.439] it has these little pop ups here, [00:21:56.979] then I can click into any of them. My [00:21:59.029] computer may take just a quick second. Some [00:22:01.348] of them are going to be PDF S here. Some of [00:22:03.358] them are going to actually launch into a different [00:22:05.420] resource if you have the resource available. [00:22:08.180] But I can click through and read whatever I need to know. [00:22:10.400] And again, this is going to be specifically specifically [00:22:13.219] related to their profile. You'll [00:22:15.279] see they can also just briefly run a search [00:22:17.660] here and [00:22:20.699] I can collapse that now and I can move on to my [00:22:22.799] next one. [00:22:24.289] So if I want to, let's click here into my lean [00:22:26.529] canvas again, mine is already done, but I [00:22:28.559] want to show you this cool little feature [00:22:30.680] we have here. Now on a few of the pages, [00:22:33.189] once you start to click through, you're going to see it at the top [00:22:35.309] here. I have this nice show example [00:22:37.469] option. So mine's already filled in. [00:22:39.588] But if it wasn't, if I was just starting off [00:22:41.650] and again, kind of just blink, [00:22:43.920] we can prompt them by showing them this great example. [00:22:48.818] And what's really nice is this example is [00:22:50.848] going to be directly related to [00:22:52.890] the kind of company that they have. So [00:22:55.439] I put in this one, this is a coffee shop. [00:22:57.578] So all of this is going to be related to [00:22:59.949] coffee shops. So problems related [00:23:02.039] to coffee shops, metrics related to coffee [00:23:04.209] shops, different customer segments again [00:23:06.368] related to coffee shops. So [00:23:08.430] this is kind of a a smart example [00:23:10.500] that we're building [00:23:12.289] and they can copy and paste any of this that they find [00:23:14.348] interesting, they can download just this. [00:23:16.969] but it's not going to default to filling [00:23:19.259] out these different sections. They do still need to fill [00:23:21.430] out the sections on their own. [00:23:23.380] We've done that because we want to [00:23:25.390] guide them but not do it for [00:23:27.479] them. We think it's more beneficial as opposed [00:23:29.858] to just you know, putting this together [00:23:32.019] for them to have them do it. Even if that does [00:23:34.229] mean copying and pasting from the [00:23:36.279] from the example, they still have [00:23:38.380] to read that copy and they have to [00:23:40.420] kind of understand what they're, they're pasting [00:23:42.759] into the layout here, [00:23:46.039] but they have this here and then I could just hide my example [00:23:48.519] and I can continue on with whatever I'm doing. [00:23:51.009] What's really nice is I can click show example [00:23:53.239] more than once and it's gonna show me more than one example. [00:23:55.828] So if maybe [00:23:57.880] what it showed me before isn't exactly what [00:23:59.979] I need, I can click it again and maybe there's something that's [00:24:02.049] a little bit more related to my company [00:24:04.259] or maybe something that's kind of gets [00:24:06.289] my juices flowing a little bit, gets my brain thinking. [00:24:09.078] and I can use that example instead. So [00:24:11.239] it's a nice feature we just recently added to [00:24:13.420] make sure [00:24:14.709] patrons are kind of getting what they [00:24:16.809] need. They're getting that little push to start [00:24:18.848] their own business plan, [00:24:22.709] scrolling down here, you'll see we have the same [00:24:25.588] options as before our break, even [00:24:27.729] analysis, our business plans. [00:24:30.608] We've always had pitch decks in here, [00:24:32.750] but I do want to point out that we've pulled them up because, [00:24:35.439] um, previously they were a little bit hidden. [00:24:37.449] I actually, it took me a while to even realize [00:24:39.608] we had them and they're such a great feature that I'm glad [00:24:41.789] we've decided to pull them out and give them a little more prominence. [00:24:44.818] So if your patrons are kind of moving [00:24:46.930] past just building a [00:24:48.979] business plan and they're going to be presenting [00:24:51.029] things [00:24:52.618] to I don't know, potential investors [00:24:54.979] or banks or whomever [00:24:57.890] we have example pitch [00:24:59.920] deck here so I can click into these. You'll see, [00:25:02.009] I'll be able to download it either as a powerpoint [00:25:04.519] or a PDF here. I can download it as [00:25:06.640] a Power Point today. [00:25:12.979] And eventually there we go. It [00:25:15.390] gives just a brief introduction and kind of gives [00:25:17.799] an idea of what they should do and just a really [00:25:20.009] basic [00:25:21.348] styling there, you'll see. It wasn't anything [00:25:23.680] super crazy fancy, but it's a great [00:25:25.809] way to get them started seeing those examples [00:25:28.709] and they can actually upload their pitch deck [00:25:30.959] here as well. So if they're trying to keep all [00:25:33.059] of their business resources organized and they [00:25:35.098] do have a pitch ready to go, they can [00:25:37.219] upload it and save it here and [00:25:39.430] use it whenever they need it. It's always going [00:25:41.549] to be found under this business plan [00:25:43.709] section, [00:25:45.838] also found under this business plan section, [00:25:48.150] under other business plans. [00:25:50.949] You'll find some more detailed business options [00:25:53.910] here. So a full business plan, an executive [00:25:56.108] summary, we default to creating [00:25:58.269] a lean business plan for your patrons. [00:26:00.309] You'll see that's the little star here. But [00:26:02.509] if they do need something that's more specific, [00:26:04.709] they do have the option for the full or the executive [00:26:07.588] business plans [00:26:11.539] underneath that. We also have our financial [00:26:13.838] projections. If they are ready to enter in that information, [00:26:16.420] they certainly can. [00:26:18.459] So they can really simply kind of knock through all [00:26:20.618] of this and get everything done. I will point [00:26:22.640] out, I skipped it under business idea. I like [00:26:24.818] to point it out though, under our other business [00:26:26.979] ideation option. [00:26:29.670] With this dropdown, I can I have the ability [00:26:32.029] to create SWOT or PEST [00:26:35.239] reports here. So I'm going to click into [00:26:37.368] the SWAT because this is used frequently [00:26:39.598] here. So it's strengths, weaknesses, opportunities [00:26:42.390] and threats, [00:26:43.959] which is hard to say altogether. [00:26:45.989] But you'll see, I can go through and fill [00:26:48.000] this out and this is a great thing to add [00:26:50.078] to my business plan. If I'm going to be sharing it with [00:26:52.219] others. It's also great just for me [00:26:54.279] as an entrepreneur to kind of wrap my head around [00:26:56.769] where I am within my industry [00:26:59.019] and where I am just in general, I'll be [00:27:01.118] able to see, excuse me, [00:27:03.358] the strengths they have available. I'll be able to see [00:27:05.500] maybe threats from other companies. I can really dig [00:27:07.680] into that and make sure I'm not missing something [00:27:09.739] that could really hurt my business or can make [00:27:11.779] it. So my business isn't viable. [00:27:14.729] And that's another great way a plan builder can be [00:27:16.828] used. So even if you have a patron who's [00:27:19.328] really just on the edge of even thinking [00:27:21.660] about being an entrepreneur and just kind of want to [00:27:23.670] explore a little bit, this can help them [00:27:25.750] see if their idea is even viable. They'll [00:27:27.949] be able to kind of evaluate [00:27:30.608] what they're expecting to do and they [00:27:32.670] can run financials and if they break even [00:27:34.969] says they're not going to break even ever, [00:27:37.189] then maybe that's an indicator that they need to step back [00:27:39.449] and reevaluate what they're planning on doing [00:27:42.608] and it'll just help them kind of organize their thoughts [00:27:44.660] a little bit. And that's the goal of this resource [00:27:46.750] here. Now, [00:27:50.910] I'm going to jump back to my dashboard [00:27:53.039] again so I can do that here. You'll see, I have the back [00:27:55.118] to dashboard option here [00:27:57.118] or I have my dashboard button on top [00:27:59.239] here just to get us back to our home page. [00:28:03.420] And the last feature I'll talk about before we're done [00:28:05.640] for the day is right here [00:28:07.799] under my name. So this is where I'm going to be able [00:28:10.078] to change the settings for my account here. [00:28:13.009] So if I click into account settings, [00:28:16.189] you'll see, I have my information like [00:28:18.259] I always have and I want to mention we [00:28:20.380] still have the ability to add users to [00:28:22.489] this account. So this is a holdover from [00:28:24.739] before our enhancements. [00:28:26.568] But if you have a colleague [00:28:28.729] who's working with you, a business partner who's working [00:28:30.868] with you and you want them to have access to this [00:28:33.049] this business plan as well, [00:28:35.519] we can still add new users. You'll see, I [00:28:37.529] do have one person added here. [00:28:40.130] When I add a new user. You'll see, I actually create [00:28:42.469] this for this individual and this person [00:28:44.809] can choose to make their own account if they want [00:28:46.900] to. But this is going to link them to your [00:28:49.059] business plan. So I'll be able to enter in all [00:28:51.180] of this information for them. [00:28:53.640] And then underneath, I actually get to choose [00:28:56.588] what they have access to. So with defaults, [00:28:58.838] they don't have any access. [00:29:01.239] But I can say that I want them to be able [00:29:03.309] to fully access and change my entrepreneur [00:29:05.390] profile. And then maybe my business idea, [00:29:07.799] I want them to only read it. Maybe I just want [00:29:09.920] them to see it and you know, give me notes or something [00:29:12.000] like that. I can go through and choose exactly [00:29:15.019] what I want them to be able to see [00:29:17.199] and what they want. I want them to be able to do [00:29:21.390] and I can jump back in my little bread crumb trail [00:29:23.670] up top here to get back to that. [00:29:26.608] Oops, I should read the dialogue [00:29:28.750] box. Shouldn't I [00:29:30.029] go and I'm back here right where I was. [00:29:34.368] So again, this is a holdout from before [00:29:36.818] our enhancements. But I think it's important to remind everyone [00:29:39.430] that it is here and available for [00:29:41.539] you. Now, [00:29:46.049] we've gone through all of the enhancements on the platform [00:29:48.189] already and we've got some time left over. So [00:29:50.449] I would love to answer any questions that [00:29:52.689] you all have thought of that I haven't been able to answer [00:29:54.949] previously. If you want to maybe [00:29:57.170] dive deeper into something on the resource [00:29:59.348] that I didn't take a look at. We do have the time for that [00:30:01.489] as well. [00:30:03.640] It looks like we do have a quick question. Let me read it quickly [00:30:05.739] are Lean Canvas and demographics now included [00:30:07.959] in the subscription to Gale Business Plan Builder. [00:30:10.719] So Beth, the Lean Canvas is [00:30:12.828] going to be available here because that's [00:30:15.049] how we kind of organize everything for [00:30:17.299] patrons. DemographicsNow [00:30:19.500] is a separate resource that you [00:30:21.608] can get through Gale. So it isn't included with [00:30:23.680] Gale Business Plan Builder. It is separate [00:30:25.750] but it does integrate. So you may [00:30:27.900] have seen that right here. [00:30:29.930] It's only going to integrate specifically [00:30:33.170] if you have access to that resource. And if you don't, [00:30:35.410] I'll give you some info at the end of the session if you want [00:30:37.489] to talk about, talk about it with [00:30:39.549] your sales representative. [00:30:44.818] OK. And we have another question here. [00:30:48.180] Show financial projections, please. [00:30:50.519] Jay, I certainly can [00:30:53.180] let me pop that back up here. So [00:30:55.279] financial projections are at the bottom here. And I will [00:30:57.358] say that a lot of times this is the [00:30:59.818] um the section that struggled [00:31:02.229] with the most and a lot of times the section that isn't [00:31:04.259] used as much just because [00:31:06.459] a lot of times they're not ready for that sort of thing. But [00:31:08.588] when I drop down financial projections here, [00:31:10.789] you'll see, we've really tried to break it down into small [00:31:13.229] chunks. So you'll see capital expenditures. [00:31:15.479] We've pulled out debt and loans. I can [00:31:17.578] drop any of those down, [00:31:19.680] click into them here. [00:31:21.680] I haven't added anything so I can [00:31:23.769] hit add. It's going to ask me for this information. [00:31:26.588] I can't tell you what all of this means. [00:31:28.729] But hopefully your patron [00:31:30.789] who's going to be using this resource will kind [00:31:32.828] of understand exactly what they'll be using here, [00:31:35.459] but they'll be able to click through [00:31:39.299] and again, [00:31:40.969] they'll be able to create whatever they need to create [00:31:43.170] here. Um Let's go into a different one. So we can [00:31:45.390] see [00:31:48.789] trying to find one, a lot of them are formatted [00:31:51.259] as spreadsheets. Of course, I don't know which [00:31:53.420] one to easily click into them. [00:31:58.000] I don't know which exactly, but some [00:32:00.130] of them are organized kind of as spreadsheets [00:32:02.880] as opposed to kind of these you know, [00:32:04.949] click entry options. Um [00:32:08.150] But they are going to look different depending on what [00:32:10.410] the [00:32:12.180] specific section is. So they'll [00:32:14.299] be able to enter in any information they [00:32:16.400] have. Again, they may not have any information on [00:32:18.420] this at all, but if they do it, at least to [00:32:20.439] be able to click into those and add the information [00:32:22.799] that they need. [00:32:30.318] And we've got one more question is a I utilized [00:32:32.880] in any portion of this. So it's [00:32:34.890] a really nice question. We [00:32:36.900] do actually have a small, built, [00:32:39.180] small bit of A I integrated within [00:32:41.358] our platform that we didn't previously have [00:32:43.699] and I didn't mention it, I should have. But that [00:32:45.838] is found any time you see this show example [00:32:48.338] option [00:32:49.630] and what the A A I is doing is it's pulling [00:32:51.880] the information [00:32:53.578] that the patron has input it into the [00:32:55.588] resource to make those um very [00:32:58.108] specific suggestions. So remember I said if [00:33:00.150] it was a coffee shop and I hit this [00:33:02.189] show example, it was going to give me information [00:33:04.420] related to a coffee shop. [00:33:06.459] We're using that through an A I program. [00:33:08.670] So what they're going to do is they just pull [00:33:10.910] um a very small amount of [00:33:12.930] information. They don't pull [00:33:14.719] any sort of, you know, protected [00:33:16.848] information or any business secrets or anything [00:33:18.949] like that. All they're going to take a look at is the name [00:33:21.049] of the company. If an in an industry [00:33:23.650] code was put in, they'll take [00:33:25.719] a look at that. And with that company name and industry [00:33:27.989] code, they're going to be able to pull forward [00:33:30.019] some information. [00:33:31.338] So yes, we do have a little bit of A [00:33:33.459] I that's being utilized in this resource. Thank [00:33:35.588] you for asking that. It's a newer feature that [00:33:37.920] we're really excited about being able to bring to [00:33:39.989] patrons. [00:33:45.059] OK. So I don't see any more questions. So let [00:33:47.219] me go ahead and jump just back here to my [00:33:50.959] presentation. [00:33:53.078] So you have some some support [00:33:55.459] here at Gail if you need some additional information [00:33:57.598] or maybe you just want to talk a little bit more in depth [00:33:59.680] about this resource.
